Forbidden Mystery [INFREQUENT UPDATES]

Chapter 14

"The new kids seem pretty strange, don't you think?" Patricia asked Joy and Mara. The three girls were in their beds, laying their head on the bed's headboard, either reading a book or using their phone.

"I personally think you should leave them alone. You kept trashing them since they got here." Joy blurted out. Realizing what she had just said, she clamped her hand on her mouth and gasped. "I'm sorry."

A frustrated Patricia quickly jumps up from her bed and says, "Look, I've said the same thing when Nina and Eddie came here. The same thing happens everytime."

Mara slowly put her book down with a curious expression in her face. "What same thing?"

"There's always something bad happening!" Patricia shouted. Joy and Mara sighed. Patricia is like the Jade West of Anubis House, if you know what I mean.

She yelled, "When Nina first came, Joy, you know what happened to yourself, and when Yacker came, you almost died because of Senkhara and Rufus!"

"Are you saying that you didn't even want them here in the first place? I mean, Nina's your friend - sort of, and Eddie's your boyfriend, Patricia."

Joy advised, "You're overreacting. You should get some rest."

"Goodnight," she said as she flicked her night lamp off.

Mara simultaneously looked at her two roommates before mimicking Joy's actions: she flicked her night lamp off and said, "Goodnight."

Patricia had no one else to talk to, it was past ten already, and she had the last lamp on so she mimicked her roommates' actions and sighed, "Goodnight."

Fabian slowly and sliently opened the door leading to Nina's room. Tonight was one of their night-off nights off of Sibuna tasks. Their minds needed a short break. Magic was a lot to take in for them.

"Nina!" he loudly whispered as he shut the door. Nina was still asleep after countless calls and whispers from Fabian. He tried again, "Nina!"

When he started to walk out of the room, his curiousity stopped him from doing so - Andi's phone lit up. It was placed on the dark brown nightstand beside her bed that was also beside the table.

It was a text message from Jax, saying:

Heading to the cellar with Diego early. If you're coming with us, come down to the cellar now.

Right after he read the message, he quickly (but silently) ran towards the cellar. At first, no one believed Patricia's endless accusations, but tonight, Fabian serves as a witness to prove to them that the newbies, indeed, are trying to get to the bottom of this before them.

Once he reached the entrance hall, he looked up to make sure that Victor wasn't looking. He opened the door, a short creaking noise was made - which was ignored anyways - but when he closed it, the thick winds of the air pushed the door, creating a loud thud.

"Who was that?" a female's voice sprawled across the room.

When Fabian reached the end of the staircase, two men in hoodies pulled him closer to the wooden antiques and closed his mouth to keep him from making any more noise.
