*15 missed calls*

Shouta's heart sank to his stomach. His phone displayed the name of the caller, causing a panic to stir. He hesitantly called back, but it went straight to voicemail as he feared.

"Damnit", he tossed his phone on the bed, swiping his fingers through his wet hair. He was in the shower for what felt like an hour and managed to miss calls from the very person he was waiting on.

KNOCK KNOCK

He directed his gaze upon the door, wondering if his room service arrived. He put in the order right before his shower, so he figured he might've missed them the first time they stopped by. He tightened his towel around his waist and was gonna open the door, but figured it would be impolite to expose himself so bare, so he went back to grab a robe, only for the knocking to get louder. He quickly dressed himself in the robe, calling out to the impatient knocker. "One moment"

He unlocked the handle, twisting the knob and with everything in his being...he froze. His eyes wide, feet planted in place, he didn't even breathe, scared he might've been hallucinating and fell asleep without realizing.

"May I come in?", she spoke.

Still puzzled, he didn't respond. He stood there like a brick wall as if he forgot how to function. She politely inserted herself inside of the hotel room and sat on the edge of the bed, laying her purse besides her. "Are you gonna close the door?", she asked, sensing he was still out of it.

He pressed the door closed, pinching himself and sure enough...this was real. How did she find me?

Shouta P.O.V

"Katsumi...I didn't know-"

"How are you?", she interrupted, rather quickly. Her words seemed cautious, like she was trying not to say the wrong thing.

"I'm fine", I lied.

She stood up, walking closer, looking up at me while I kept a steady face. "You're lying", she said.

"Katsumi-"

"Your mom stopped by today. She's worried because she's been trying to contact you this whole week and you haven't been answering. She begged I reach out, so I did and you weren't picking up, so I thought I'd stop by to check in"

"How did you figure out where I was staying?", I questioned.

"Is that important? *sighs* look...I did this as a favor to your mom, so I'll just let her know you're ok", she got up, leading to the door, but I couldn't just let her leave.

"Wait-"

"I'm not gonna tell her where you're staying, but she deserves to know you're alive", her voice suddenly breaking.

"I won't hold you here hostage, I just want a moment to talk about things. I want to talk about...to talk about us"

I watched her arm, swipe across her face from behind, a tell that she may be crying and I felt horrible. Speaking with my therapist gave me a lot of insight. I wasn't the only one hurting through all this...Katsumi was too.

I gently grabbed her arm, taking a deep breath in, "I need to apologize. I haven't reached out and it wasn't fair to you. Let me explain myself and then you can leave. Promise"

She turned around, taking her arm back with a nod, "Sure"

She sat at the edge of the bed once more, flicking her hair to the side. She looked uncomfortable, making me rethink if this was the best time.

Dr Blanely: "Healing looks different on everyone, but don't let that distract you from your goal. You deserve to heal just as much as anyone else, so don't falter when given the chance to. Say you're part. Mean every word and most importantly, stay true to yourself"
