Maybe This Time

Today is a day I do not really know how to describe. I'm gonna see my best friend Shawn again after about five years. I don't really know what we were before. We were more than friends, yet less than lovers.

I decided to just keep my outfit simple. I just wore some denim shorts, a flowy tank top with a denim jacket, and my black vans. As for my makeup I just applied some powder and some lip gloss. (A/N: I'm sorry I don't know make up.)

I drove to my friend, Y/F/N's house where I will see Shawn. I pulled over in front of her house and hopped off. I knocked the door and she answered.

"May I?" I asked.

"Of course." She stepped aside.

I went in and she locked the door.

"Everyone is at the living room." She said pulling me towards the said area.

As we reached the living room there he is. Sitting on one side of the sofa. There sat the guy whom I loved for years. There sat the guy named Shawn Mendes.

There was a free seat beside him. Well maybe if I sit there I could make things work out between us. But a girl from my back came walking and sat there beside him.

"Uh... Guys this is my friend, Alexa." He said.

I just decided to sit beside Y/F/N. We played truth or dare and throughout the whole game Alexa and Shawn were like all over each other.

"So Shawn... Truth or dare?" Y/F/N asked Shawn since he's the last one because it's getting really late.

"Dare." He said.

"I dare you to carry the girl you love inside that closet and do anything you want to her for five minutes." She said.

"Sure." He smirked.

I'm pretty sure that he is gonna choose Alexa because he introduced her as his friend and throughout this whole day they were like playing tongue hockey all the time. But surprisingly, he didn't choose Alexa. HE CHOSE ME.

He carried me to the room and locked it. I didn't get mad or hysterical or whatever. I just sat down and asked him why did he choose me.

"Y/N. I'm sorry." He said.

"But why me?" I asked.

"Because I love you." He said.

"But what about Alexa?" I looked at him.

"Oh well, we aren't together and I just asked her to pretend to make you feel jealous and yeah." He sighed. "Well I know this isn't the perfect time to ask this but... Will you please be my girlfriend?"

"I don't know Shawn, I'm sort of afraid to fall all over again and that you'd leave me." I looked down.

"Maybe this time it will work out." He placed his two fingers on my chin and lifted it up. There he kissed me. "Will you please be my girlfriend?" He asked as we both pulled away.

"It would be such an honor." I smiled.
