I guess there is nothing wrong with crashing a totally elaborate gala with shitty clothes on while everyone else is wearing designer dresses with their hair and make-up done perfectly. Charlie just wasn't like that. Also, she was going to prom with 3 of her guy friends at the last minute so why would  she actually care. The only reason why she was there was so she could stop acting like a dead person because that was obviously not the case. Charlie, Michael, Ashton and Luke scrambled out of Ashton's car after parking in the very full lot and as soon as her feet hit the ground, she was hit with a wave of extreme deja vu. "Are you ready kid?" Ashton asked her and she nodded her head but was very weary to go in there. It really was an exact replica of the night that she met Calum Hood just a few short months ago.

The music was so loud that you could almost see the sound waves. The pulsing beat thumped on and on endlessly and could give anyone a headache. But Charlie took a deep breath and nodded even though she thought she might be sick. She hoped not because not only does she get crude remarks about Calum 'fucking and ducking' it would just be so embarrassing if she threw up at her own prom.

They very slowly made their way inside of the building because they all feared that if Charlie got cold feet and ran the other way like a bat out of hell, they would be able to catch her and sling her over their shoulders and keep going. Charlie herself wanted to turn around and go home knowing that this was so totally out of her comfort zone. She is miles away from the boundaries that she is comfortable in, but there was no way she could back out of it now that she was in the building and the doors were closed behind her sealing her in to what could potentially be her doom. "Don't be scared." Michael shouted and smiled at Charlie knowing that she was so not 'ok' with doing this. I mean the girl has been depressed for over 2 months and all of a sudden you just take her to an event that everyone is supposed to enjoy? It really made no logic at all and any sane person wouldn't have even left their house. Thank God that Charlie isn't exactly sane.

Anyway, as soon as those words left Michael's mouth, he grabbed her hand and dragged her onto the dance floor. No one could resist dancing because anyone around you was doing just that. Michael being the party animal he is, he immediately started to playfully twerk on Charlie which actually made her laugh at his childishness and eventually, Charlie broke from her depressing little turtle shell and danced along with Michael and Ashton and Luke.

Then after a forgotten amount of songs passed, Charlie was coated in sweat and her shirt clung awkwardly to her skin but she didn't care because for once Calum was totally void of her head and she was actually living in bliss. There was no more Calum Hood that lived in San Francisco and all of the rumours that circled around him were nonexistant and Charlie Carters was no longer heartbroken. And then something totally questionable happened. One by one, the boys made excuses to leave Charlie alone on the dance floor. Michael had to go to the bathroom, Ashton wanted a drink and Luke apparently saw some babes he wanted to impress. So Charlie started becoming a little insecure again as envious eyes stared at her dressed like a hobo with unruly hair and uneven make-up.

So Charlie attempted to leave the dance floor and find Ashton by the punch. He wasn't there. So she waited outside the guys bathroom and asked if any of them had seen a guy with an eyebrow ring and angry red hair. They all said no. The group of girls told Charlie that Luke hadn't said a word to them. Charlie started to realize that they ditched her at her prom knowing that if it weren't for them, she wouldn't have even gone. Charlie tried not jumping to conclusions and thought it was a coincidence. She checked the stoner corner outside expecting to see Luke lighting a cigarette. No luck. Charlie made her way over to the food knowing that there should be pizza. Michael wasn't there and she was out of ideas for where Ashton could be. So she weaved her way through the crowd trying to leave as quickly as possible, tripping over different pairs of Jimmy Chu's and the tulle from the luxurious gowns scraped her skin awkwardly.

Finally the door to the exit was in sight and she was almost there. Until she tripped over a silver platform heel. And Charlie expected to totally face plant. Except someone caught her by the waist. She looked up into their oh-so familiar green eyes. "Phoenix?"
