Camilla's P. O. V.

When the bedroom door shuts, I groan and lay down. I just completely lied to Tony. To my husband.

I don't love him. I don't want to make things work. I want out out. I want out of the marriage and I want to be happy with someone else.

No, not Sonny. He was great to distract myself with. But I don't want to marry him.

I honestly have no idea how I'll get out of this marriage. My parents won't approve. Tony and his family won't approve. It's going to take some seriously big power to get me out. And I don't know where I'm going to get that power.

After laying there for awhile, my cell phone rings. "Hello?"

"Yes, is this Camilla Genovese?"

"Yes it is. "

"I'm calling to tell you how sorry our office is. We mixed your results with someone else's. You're not pregnant. "

I smile, "I'm not? Oh thank you. "

I hang up and immediately go tell Tony and Sonny the good news.

"You look gorgeous. "

I give Tony a small smile, "hm? oh, thank you. "

Tony and I are attending a gala at the palace. It's being thrown by the Queen of France. I heard its to find a suitable woman for the prince.

Prince Louis can't claim the throne until he is married. So his mother is rushing the process. She invited lots of eligible women whom she approved of. But lots of other people were invited to cover up the true reason for the gala.

Prince Louis is supposed to dance with each woman and make a decision by the end of the night.

Tony and I have been here for awhile. Tony left my side long ago. So here I am, drinking champagne and watching Louis dance with woman after woman.

I set down my empty glass right before I am pushed out onto the dance floor. Into the arms of Prince Louis of France.

I gasp, surprised. I try to pull away, "There's been some mistake"

Louis holds me tight and starts dancing. "No, I don't believe there has been. You've been standing alone all night. I asked my advisor to give you a little nudge in my direction. "

I laugh, "Well, as flattered as I am, I'm not one of the eligible women your mother invited. "

Louis laughs, "Oh I know. My mother never would've invited an American. "

I tilt my hand, "Are American's so bad?"

Louis shakes his head, "Not at all. I find them quite fascinating. And some of them particularly beautiful. "

I blush, "Well, thank you. But i'm married. "

Louis frowns, "Not happily, I presume. Not if your husband left you alone all night. "

I sigh and nod, "You're right. I'm not happy. It was an arranged marriage between my parents and my husband. He's been extremely unfaithful from the beginning. I never dreamed I would be in a loveless marriage. I feel so alone."

Louis tilts his head, "You moved here simply for the marriage? You have no friends here?"

I shake my head, "I've been here for a few months. I haven't even left the house. I know nothing about France. I know no one in France. Most of my time is spent alone. My husband is always working. "

Louis sighs and looks around. Finally he says, "Where's your husband?"

I look around then spot Tony talking to a group of other men, "Right there. "

Louis nods, "He doesn't even seem concerned about you. "

I look up at Louis, "He never has been."

Louis strokes my cheek, "If I were here with you, I would never leave you alone. Too many men looking at you with hunger in their eyes. "

I blush, "I belong to Tony. And he knows it."

Louis shakes his head, "You don't belong to anyone. "

Louis' advisor walks up, "Sir, it's time for your dance with Lea. "

Louis groans, "Lea is insufferable. "

He grabs my hand, "What do you say we get out of here?"

I grin, "Sure"

Louis pulls me with him as we quickly walk out of the room. Louis leads me outside into the gardens.

It's dark so the moon shines brightly on the garden. We walk throughout the garden, talking.

"I hate thinking of you being alone in that house all the time. "

I shrug, "It's not completely terrible. I read a lot. "

Louis and I sit down on a bench. He leans down and pulls a rose from the ground. He hands it to me, "For you"

I blush and take the rose, "Thank you. It's beautiful. "

Louis grabs my hand in his, "You must give me your address. Tomorrow, I am coming to pick you up and we're going to go do something. "

I frown, "That sounds amazing. But my husband would never allow it. "

Louis shakes his head, "I don't care. I want to spend time with you. "

I bite my lip, "You don't even know me."

"Let me get to know you then. "

I shake my head as I feel tears start to form, "I wasn't completely faithful to my husband either. One night, I heard Tony, my husband, with another woman. I took solace in his brother."

Louis shakes his head, "Don't feel ashamed. You need comfort and you found it. I still want to spend time with you. "

I smile, "I want to spend time with you too. "

I gave Louis my address and what time Tony leaves for work then said, "I should get inside before Tony notices I was gone. And you have more eligible women to dance with. "

Louis presses his forehead against mine, "There's no one that I would rather dance with than you. "
