Camilla's P. O. V.
"Camilla, you look terrible"
I laugh as Sonny and Tony walk into the dining room. I decided to try and eat my breakfast out here. I needed some time out of bed.
I grin, "It's nice to see you, Sonny. "
He kisses my cheek, "You too, sweetheart. "
Sonny looks at Tom, who's sitting next to me, "I don't believe we've met. I'm Sonny. "
Tom shakes his hand, "I'm Tom. "
Sonny sits down across from me, "What are you doing here?"
Tom starts, "I'm her car-"
I interrupt him, "Friend. He's my friend. And he's here to keep me company and make sure I don't do anything stupid while everyone is in Scotland. "
Tom looks at me in surprise, casting me a smile. Then looking at Sonny, he says, "That's right. Camilla and I are very good friends. "
Sonny raises his brows and nods, "So, Cami, -"
"Don't address the future Queen of France as Cami"
Everyone looks at Tom in shock. I smile, "It's alright, Tom. Really. "
He nods and looks down at his plate. Sonny continues, "As I was saying, how is the engagement to the Prince going?"
I laugh, "It's going well, thank you. "
Tony clears his throat, clearly uncomfortable with the conversation. Sonny sighs, "Sorry man, but you're going to have to get over her. "
I look down, trying not to embarrass Tony. Tony says, "I think we should go, Sonny. I'm sure Camilla has things she needs to do. "
I smile at them as they get up to leave, "Goodbye. Thank you for coming to see me. "
The servant lets them out. Tom quickly stands up to pull my chair out, "Come on, darling. How about a walk around the gardens?"
I smile and nod, taking note of his name for me. Darling.
Tom and I walk outside and walk around. We stop to rest on the same bench Louis and I sat on when we first met.
"So, was it weird for you? Seeing your ex husband?"
I shrug, "Not weird, as much as sad. I feel bad about how things happened and how things were left. I feel bad that he really does care about me but never truly got the chance to show me. I just hope he'll move on and find someone who makes him happier than I ever could've. "
I look up at the sky when I hear Tom say, "I can't imagine it'll be easy to move on from someone like you. "
My head whips down to look at him in shock. Tom quickly backtracks, "I'm sorry, m'lady. That was completely out of turn. "
I shake my head, "No, it wasn't. Thank you, for saying that. "
Tom looks like he's having an internal battle before his hand reaches up, settling on my cheek.
I can't help but lean into his hand, closing my eyes. I know it isn't right. But the care that Tom has shown me, has made me feel things I shouldn't be feeling.
Tom leans closer, his lips getting dangerously close to mine. Our lips are about to touch when a servant comes walking out, causing us to quickly break apart.
"M'lady, Prince Louis just called. They're coming home early. They'll be here tomorrow. "
I nod, "Thank you, Ethel. "
I look at Tom in shock, "Wow. Tomorrow. "
Tom sighs, "Tomorrow. I guess today is my last day with you. "
I shake my head, "Absolutely not. I intend on making you my full time doctor. "
Tom looks at me in shock, "Thank you, m'lady. There is no job that would give me greater joy. "
I smile, "Good. Now, I'm going to head back to my room and take a nap. I want to look refreshed when everyone gets here tomorrow. You go do whatever you would like. "
Tom nods so I stand up and walk back to my bedroom, going to sleep.
