The drill in his hand was so loud, that he almost didn't catch the words directed at him.

Entranced by the spinning screw quickly disappearing into the wall, Gianni had to shake himself out of the reverie he was in to respond.

Come agin?

Mariah's familiar voice answered him immediately, her voice laced with worry, I think Alpha Orion is asleep, or busy and I'm not sure about Adriel. I didn't want to call the Luna. Thomas and I were having breakfast this morning when he asked me about a new member. He said yesterday afternoon he was at the pack house helping clean up after Sadie's birthday party and Lila was telling her sister and her mom about there being a new member soon and how Alpha Orion smelled strange and what led her to getting into trouble was asking him about it. I didn't tell Tom about the Luna.

Shit.

After the night at the new house, why the fuck would Lila say anything else?

Gianni placed the drill on the floor, then tipped his head back, staring up at the ceiling as he groaned loudly.

I'll take it from here. Thank you Mariah.

Adriel was out running patrol.

The alpha couple was in town at the hardware store grabbing some more stained wood.

Mo tried to start her floating desk without Orion and Gianni and the poor thing was downright awful with power tools. She'd cut down the ledgers that the desk would sit on, but she'd forgotten that her mate and Gamma precut the wood days prior. Adriel stained them two days ago, and they were ready to be installed. Hoggie had been watching Orion intensely, a word hadn't left her lips, and it obvious now that she wasn't paying attention to what the men were actually doing. She'd had that hungry look Gianni saw mated pairs have.

She'd made a big mess, fucked up the drywall somehow, and stripped ten screws.

Orion thought it was hilarious- Warren Lachlan paid a hell of a lot of money to have his dream house built, just for his baby brother's mate to sweep in and practically shred the wall three and a half years later.

She also hated the sound of the saw and halfway through the "job" she'd called Gianni over at 5 AM, then woke the alpha up to get to work.

They had three walls to extend the tables across, and Adriel was due to come help once he finished his duties. Mo and Rion had to replace the wood she destroyed. They'd taken his truck to fit the lengths.

Rolling his injured shoulder with a sigh, Gianni stood up, made his way to Hoggie's bathroom, and swiped some Tylenol. His arm hurt like a bitch, but both he and Orion were a little restless since they couldn't train and were only able to overlook.

As soon as Gianni was healed enough and out of his brace, he and Orion decided it was time to get the Luna's spell room set up.  They were both going stir crazy not being able to shift.

Gian didnt know what Mo said or did to get Orion to stop shifting, but it worked. The Alpha hadn't shifted in almost a week.

Once the pills were swallowed, Gianni made his way downstairs to the den and threw his body on the couch.

He dialed the Luna's number after unsuccessfully getting a hold of her mate.

The phone rang for an eternity before her cheerful voice met his ears, "Hey bud! I had a feeling you were about to call. What's up?"

"Your mate shut off the link between him and the pack. Can you have him link me or pass the phone?"

"What is it?" Orion asked in the background. It sounded like they were back in the truck.
