"Lift him up," Kaleigh said, as Derek did so. The slim man was unconscious, and they were in the forgotten old kitchen, hidden from other travelers and survivalists. Derek sat him on a chair, took a bucket of water from one of the pots in the kitchen, and splashed it on the man's face. The man's eyes bulged open while he looked around at the four staring him down like a tiger searching for prey. "Who the hell are you people?" he asked with a slightly terrified look on his face. "Your worst nightmare," Liam said, as Nate rolled his eyes. "We are the CPG, people you should be afraid of," Kaleigh said with an annoyed tone. "The CPG? What's that the Crazy People Gang?" "Mm. Funny," Derek said, leaning down to the man. "Where are your buddies? Nate here said you were in a group. The rest of you, wherever you come from, ran off. Seems like they care about their lives more than yours. Is that the kind of group you run? Unloyal?" Derek got up close to the man being interrogated. "First off, nosey, I don't run the group, we are all our own leader. Second of all, I come from my mother's-" "That's enough." Nate said. ".. My name is Jaime. I'm a rogue agent." Derek looked at Kaleigh and narrowed his eyebrows, while Kaleigh said, "What brings you to such a corrupted and dangerous place?" The man was about to answer, until a loud shriek came from the other side of the door to the kitchen, and a Smoker instantly bashed inside, staring at the five. The Smoker charged at them, and they all dodged out of the way, but since Jaime was still in the chair, he had little time to escape. The Smoker rammed into him and puked toxic fumes as it did, knocking Jaime out cold as it held him by the neck and choked him until he turned blue. Jaime was definitely unconscious, but Derek grabbed his knife and Liam grabbed his spear, and they both charged into the beast, killing it quickly. From experience, Smokers were getting easier to take on. They looked down at the lifeless Smoker and the could-be-dead Jaime. "Go lift him up again Liam," Kaleigh demanded. "Are you kidding me? After that? He's probably contagious. No way." Nate rolled his eyes and proceeded to pick up the unconscious rogue agent. "Your jacket probably had germs on it too but no one's complaining," Derek said. Liam was really getting tired of all the shit he'd been getting from the other three. If there was one, he felt like the fourth wheel. "Forget about the Smoker, it probably just means they're following us here. They might have picked up our scent, or heard us when we opened that valve on the door." Nate and Liam nodded, and the four of them left from the kitchen to the opposite side of the Dark Zone, with Jaime hanging on Nate's shoulder.
