Out of panic, the group ran crazily back to the entrance of the sewers, desperate to close the brick wall on the Scorpedos, but they didn't know how. Kaleigh unleashed a massive shower of bullets on the shiny, ambushing Scorpedos with her rifle and Scorpion bits were flying everywhere. They were climbing on the walls, on the ceiling, and just when they were about to reach them, they climbed out the windows into one of the hotel rooms and shut the door, locking it, while Liam lifted up a dresser and put it in front. They could hear the Scorpedos banging viciously on the door but they could not get it open, which calmed the CPG down a little. They all looked at each other as if the world was about to end. Nate looked especially frightened as he'd never encountered pests such as these before. Liam made extra sure that he didn't lose his crafting bag/satchel or his metal club, and he was glad that he didn't. Suddenly, Kaleigh looked over at Derek, "Wait, why didn't we take that sword that was on the wall? You could've used that to fight off the Scorpedos." ".. Good question," Derek replied, scratching the back of his head, thinking intently. Kaleigh shook her head and rolled her eyes, holstering her rifle. The two metal club wielders looked over at Kaleigh, while Nate said, ".. Your shooting back there was outstanding, thanks." Kaleigh smiled but didn't look at Nate, nodding, while Derek raised a brow at Nate. Nate felt guilty and quickly started playing with his metal club again, Liam did the same. It was obvious they weren't going to think of a plan to get out of the hotel room, so it was up to Kaleigh and Derek to think of something.

"You got a plan?" Derek instantly asked, not bothering to use his own brain. "You asked me that when I woke up, why don't you think of something?" Derek looked away and narrowed his eyebrows, stroking his chin and looking out one of the windows. The hotel room was like front row seats and the window the stage, because it showed what was once a hotel of Blackwell, now drained of all life and critically hit by the corruption. The sky was grayed out completely, not a cloud to be seen. There was no sun that could be seen, just a boring gray.. except, a darker gray than before. It looked as if it was going to rain. Corrupted could be seen walking about on the snowy highway across from the hotel, struggling to maintain their balance, searching for human flesh to feed on. Dead bodies of other survivalists could be seen scattered across the horizon, though they were skeletons, which meant they died a while back and decayed over time, so Derek thought that there probably aren't any corrupted close by. He suddenly changed his point of view and focused on where he was. He was in a hotel room, a place people usually stay for the night. He couldn't think of a reason for them to exit, not right now anyway. Inside the hotel room was a bathroom, a kitchen counter, a stove, a fridge, a sofa, a TV on top of a dresser, a table, a chair, and a queen bed. "Hmm. Maybe we should just stay here for the night. I doubt we'll find any place as luxurious as this again during the apocalypse. Me myself.. I'm tired, so I think we should try thinking of way to get out tomorrow, when our brains are working their fastest." Kaleigh nodded as Derek spoke, meaning she was probably thinking the same thing, as did Liam and Nate. Liam asked, "Well then where are we sleeping, hm?" "Nose goes to the chair," Nate quickly said, as Derek, Kaleigh, and Nate touched their noses, Liam touching his nose last, granting him the chair to sleep in. "Are you kidding me? My jacket, my bag, my spear, and now a chair?" Liam mumbled. Nate felt pity for Liam again, unusually, and went over to him, patting his shoulder and saying, "Don't worry. I'll sleep on the chair. You can have the sofa." Liam managed to put a smile over his anger at this, and nodded. This meant Derek and Kaleigh were getting the queen bed, but they both knew, not saying a word, in case Liam would get upset again. The group all said their goodnights, put their equipment on the kitchen counter, Liam watched some TV, as it was surprisingly working, and Nate read his "Fifty Shades of Gray" book that he secretly kept with him this entire time until he passed out. Derek and Kaleigh got in the queen bed and nothing was said until the next day.
