Jay and I woke to the sound of his alarm blaring loudly. Groaning in annoyance I flung my hand to the side, successfully shutting the thing up.

"Cans, you're supposed to get up at that sound." Jay's voice murmured before he placed a few soft kisses on my neck.

"Nughf." I mumbled incoherently as I shoved my face into the pillows, not wanting to wake up.

"I'll make you some breakfast." He bargained, waking me immediately.

"Bacon and eggs?" I asked eagerly.

"Sure." Jay agreed, laughing at how quickly I hopped off the bed to get ready.

"Come on mister, you got food to make me." I told him with my hands on my hips.

"Yes, your highness."

I smiled as I watched him get up to go make us breakfast. Once he was out of the room I started to get ready. It had been about two weeks since my parents had been home and Tommy and I had been staying elsewhere. Our parents kept trying to get us to go to dinners with them. Usually by now they would have gave up and left, but it seemed they were pretty determined this time. Too bad Tommy and I were dead set in not spending time with them.

I sighed as I did my makeup. Why did they all of a sudden want to be in our lives?

The smell of bacon wafted into the room, causing my stomach to clench in hunger. FOOD. I quickly finished my makeup and made my way to the kitchen, bumping into Mr. Hayes on the way.

"Shit. Sorry." I said as we collided.

"Don't worry about it, Scooby." He chuckled. I scowled at the nickname.

A few days ago Mr. Hayes had commented on how I always ready for any kind of food and that he hardly ever saw me without a snack in my hands. I tried to be a smart ass and say it was because I always had the munchies, to which he had simply laughed and said 'Okay, Scooby Doo.'

I was about to snap at him about the nickname when I realized that he was in nothing but a towel. Shock was one way to describe how I felt at that moment. The guy hardly ever walked around in less than a tshirt and baggy sweats, so to see him practically naked threw me off guard. My eyes couldn't help themselves as they traveled down his body, taking notice to the fit physique of Mr. Hayes.

"Done checking me out?" He quietly said, a half smile on his lips.

Over the past two weeks he and I had gotten really close while Jay was constantly having dinner with his parents. I had learned quite a bit about Mr. Hayes and had felt comfortable enough to share a bit about myself. I had taken the time to explain my whole 'facade' for school (well part of it) since he had asked one day why I was so different in class.

In that time he had started being more confident and making a point to voice when he saw me staring or he would make small innuendos. I had no idea what had brought this on, especially since he was still dating that bitch and I was most definitely dating his brother.

"No, actually I'm not." I replied calmly, making a point out of running my eyes down his body again. It seemed like when we were in the house he wasn't one of my teachers and I wasn't one of his students. We were just two people on an equal standing.

"Well, I suggest you finish then." He murmured, taking a step closer to me. "My little brother will be wondering what's taking you so long."

And just like that those words snapped me out of trying to be a bad ass and I scurried away feeling a seed of guilt bloom in my stomach. I had to remember that I was in a relationship with my best friend who treated me way better than I deserved and that I couldn't keep up the same kind of personality that I was used to.
