3rd Person POV:
~18 Months Later//1989//Graduation Day~
Wendy struggled for balance as she rode Max's skateboard, riding on the road in front of her house in semi-confidence. She yelped a little as she lost balance but she stepped off before she could fall. She groaned a little.
"So that's where my skateboard went."
Wendy fought a smile as she picked up the skateboard, turning around to see Max approaching her with a teasing brow raise.
"I've been looking for that, you know," Max said.
"I know," Wendy nodded. "I'm the one that took it."
"No, really?" Max asked sarcastically. "Why did you steal it?"
"So you can avoid more broken bones," Wendy said simply. "I swear, if I see you in a cast of any kind, I just might grow insane."
"Oh, we wouldn't want that, would we?" Max asked playfully. "Such a caring girlfriend you are."
"I am! Thank you for noticing!" Wendy said. She checked her watch. "Besides, we have about two hours before we graduate and I'm bored."
"I have an idea," Max said.
"Yeah, like what?" Wendy asked curiously.
"Something a little like.." Max trailed off before leaning in and pecking Wendy's lips. "That, except maybe in your room. Maybe we can even have the door open since Steve and your parents aren't back yet."
Wendy blushed before grabbing Max's hand, dragging Max behind her towards the house.
"Excited, are we?" Max teased as she let herself be pulled.
"I can't help it, you're too pretty," Wendy said.
Max laughed loudly.

Wendy itched her cheek as she sat in the metal folded chair, bright ugly orange cap and gown on with her fellow students as they graduated. Principal Higgins stepped up to the podium.
"Good afternoon and welcome to the graduation ceremony for the class of '89," Principal Higgins said into the microphone. Wendy dutifully clapped. "And now it's my great pleasure to introduce someone who has truly excelled during their time here. Ladies and gentlemen, give a warm welcome to your valedictorian, Dustin Henderson!"
Wendy clapped and cheered as Dustin stood and approached the podium with an eager smile.
"I just wanted a normal childhood," Dustin started. "But that childhood was stolen from me. It was stolen from us. And this past year, if you wanna know the truth, I've been pretty pissed off about it."
The audience was filled with murmurs of agreement.
"But then I thought back to the past six years, and I realized that, even though there was a lot of bad, there was so much good too," Dustin continued. "There's this game I like to play. It's called Dungeons & Dragons. And in this game, there are two types of chaos classes, chaotic good and chaotic bad. Now, bad chaos brings anarchy, destruction, war. But good chaos can bring innovation, change. And this school, well, it needed to change. Because we were so divided into the jocks, the nerds, the freaks. And in the chaos, all those walls broke down, and I made new friends. I made friends who were never supposed to be my friends. And this wasn't just me, I saw this happen with so many others. And when you get to know people who are different from you, you begin to learn more about yourself. You change. You grow. I'm a better person because of my friends."
