3rd Person POV:
Wendy stood beside Dustin, Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan. Everyone looked up at the building that they always seem to go back to almost every time. Hawkins Lab. Wendy stared up at it apprehensively.
"I don't know if this version is even more creepy or the one in the real world.." Wendy muttered as they approached the building.
They entered the building, shining their flashlights around.
"Well, this looks really promising," Steve said sarcastically.
"We're in the lobby," Dustin snarked.
"And..where are we going exactly?" Nancy asked.
"Right, like, what are we even looking for?" Jonathan asked.
"You've all seen Return of the Jedi?" Dustin asked.
"The one with the teddy bears?" Steve asked.
"Ewoks," Wendy corrected.
"Yeah, it's the best one," Steve said.
"..is it?" Nancy asked.
"No, but every child loves it, so tracks," Dustin said. "In the film, if you recall, the rebels need to destroy a second Death Star, but it's surrounded by a protective energy shield which is created by a shield generator."
"Yeah, cool, thanks for the summary of a movie we've all seen," Steve droned.
"You wouldn't have seen it if it weren't for us," Wendy pointed out.
"It's an oddly relevant movie, Steve," Dustin said. "Look, I think this circular flesh wall is Vecna's version of an energy shield, except it's not sci-fi. It's supernatural, created by Vecna's dark magic. And this dark magic shield is what's preventing us from reaching him and saving Holly."
"But if Dustin's math is right, the generator for the shield has to be in this lab," Wendy said.
"So if we find this dark magic shield generator.." Jonathan trailed off.
"We destroy the wall," Dustin nodded.
"Find Vecna, save Holly," Nancy added.
"End this once and for all," Wendy droned. "Yay us, we win, medal for all."
"Okay, but are we sure you should be here then?" Nancy asked Wendy. "I mean, you've been experiencing a lot of episodes lately, and if Dustin's right, what will happen the closer you are to it?"
"That's..kind of the point," Wendy sighed. "If I have a reaction or not, that's our answer. No reaction: we're wrong. Reaction: we're right..and then we'll have a problem. But I've been doing a pretty good job holding off on being completely taken over again, but I'll know if trouble comes our way. I can warn you guys to get the hell out."
"So, you're what? Bait?" Steve asked.
"I'm a volunteered experiment," Wendy corrected.
"Bait. That's bait," Steve said. "You're putting yourself as bait."
"Well, we're here now, and I'm willing to use what I've got to find and save Holly and those kids," Wendy huffed. "So unless you can come up with a better plan, we're doing this. We'll find the generator and we'll work from there."
"And what does it even look like?" Steve asked.
"How the hell should we know?" Wendy asked. "We've never seen it before, this is new to us. But one thing we are all good at is breaking shit. So, let's get to work and we break shit and hope it's the right shit to break. Okay? Good. Let's go."
