3rd Person POV:

Wendy stood in front of the radio tower with narrowed eyes. She wasn't very fond of heights, but she wasn't very fond of her world ending more. She shoved another piece of jerky into her mouth, chewing on it almost out of spite. She didn't like jerky either, but it was either that or die.

"No sign of an evil moving planet," Lucas observed as they looked at the dark sky, occasionally lighting up red from the lightning.

"Well, that's good," Jonathan nodded. "'Cause this is gonna take some time. We should split up. Use both ladders. Don't rush, pace yourselves. There are platforms along the way, so use them to rest."

They all advanced towards the tower, going to either ladder.

"Go up first, I'll be behind you," Steve told Wendy.

"You sure?" Wendy asked.

"It's either that or I carry you on my back instead," Steve said.

Wendy stayed silent, like she was considering that. Not having to climb, practically Steve doing all the work for her? That doesn't sound too bad, actually.

"Go," Steve nudged her arm towards the ladder playfully.

"Fine, fine, fine," Wendy said reluctantly.

She went up the ladder and like he said, Steve was climbing up behind her. The climb took a while, considering it was 500 feet to the very top, but they all eventually got up to the top platform.

Wendy stayed closer to the switch box in the middle as she tried to avoid looking anywhere. She felt like she was going to either throw up or pee herself. She wasn't sure which one yet.

"You okay?" Steve asked her.

"Mhm," Wendy said tensely, biting her lips nervously as she held onto the side of the switch box with an iron tight grip.

A particularly strong wind caused her to gasp quietly and hold onto Steve's sleeve with one hand in fear she'd lose balance. Steve held onto her arm, letting her hold onto him as she tried to calm herself down.

Thunderous cracking sounded from above them that didn't sound like weather. They all slowly looked up.

"Mother of God.." Dustin gasped slightly.

The planet was slowly descending upon them. Wendy really hoped the plan would work. She looked up, seeing the glowing red gates.

"Uh, guys, we have a problem," Wendy alarmed them. "It's not lining up."

"What do you mean?" Steve asked.

"Look!" Wendy briefly pointed up with her other hand before holding onto the switch box again. "The tower needle, it's not lining up with the rift."

"Shit, if the Abyss hits the needle.." Will trailed off.

"The tower goes with it," Mike said.

"Hey, Chief!" Dustin took out his walkie-talkie. "We're gonna need El to stop this planet! On the sooner side, please!"

"How soon?" Hopper asked.

"Thirty seconds?" Dustin guessed.

The seconds ticked by felt like an eternity.

"Chief, talk to me! What's going on in there?!" Dustin insisted.

"I don't know, I can't talk to her! I gave her the signal!" Hopper said.

"Well, nothing's happening over here," Dustin panicked. "And we're about to be squashed by a moving planet! So give it again!"

The tower trembled as the planet made contact with the tower needle. Wendy cried out as she held onto Steve fully, avoiding debris from both the tower needle and falling rocks.
