3rd Person POV:

Everyone gathered at the Squawk, meeting Will and Joyce there.

"Hey, Max!" Will said in relief, hugging her tight.

"I leave you alone for a second, and you turn into a sorcerer?" Max asked him playfully.

"It was more than a second," Will snorted as he pulled away. "And I'm not really a sorcerer."

"Could've fooled me," Wendy hummed, hugging Will next.

"That night, at the attack, you felt it too, didn't you?" Will asked her. "The burning?"

"Yeah," Wendy confirmed. "Every bit of it. The connection broke after Vecna took the kids so I missed out on you being super badass and all."

"I'll let you know if there's another opportunity," Will laughed as they broke the hug.

"Wendy, wanna give Max a tour of the place?" Lucas suggested.

Wendy looked at Max and Max nodded with a smile. Wendy stood behind Max as she pushed her wheelchair inside the building.

"So, Jimmy 'Fast Hands' skipped town before quarantine, so, naturally, we took over the place," Wendy explained. "The basement is hidden behind a bookshelf over there. It's not exactly the Batcave, but it gets the job done. Thanks to Rockin' Robin, she keeps the station as a cover as our DJ with Steve as her soundman."

Wendy scurried ahead to the soundboard, pressing a button with a show of jazz hands as the sound of applause played. Max chuckled in amusement then her face fell in worry.

"Hey, we'll get Holly back," Wendy said assuringly. She reached out and grabbed her hand. "We're one step closer."

"She's all alone in there," Max said fearfully. "Alone with that monster. And I was so sure that she could make it out. I was so stupid."

"You're not stupid," Wendy shook her head. "Max, she did make it out, you just had no idea where she was when she did. You did everything you could."

"I should've stayed with her, made sure she was safe," Max said.

"Then we would have nothing," Wendy said. "You've been in Vecna's mind. You can help us beat him. Anything you saw in there can help us figure out this whole thing."

"We don't even know where he's keeping her," Max shook her head.

"We do now," Wendy insisted. "Dustin and I figured it out in the Upside Down. But it's getting there that's the problem."

Max furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

"Come on, time for Professor Dustin's class," Wendy joked a little.

Wendy wheeled her to the sitting area where everyone gathered. Dustin stood up front holding a dry erase marker to draw on the window.

"So, this is Hawkins, and this is the Upside Down," Dustin drew. "We've always assumed the Upside Down was another dimension opened by Brenner, but it turns out it's actually a bridge. More specifically, an interdimensional bridge that rips through space and time. It is wildly unstable, but it is held together by exotic matter, which we found dead center right above the lab. In theoretical physics, they call this type of bridge a–"

"Wormhole," Mr. Clarke, Erica, and Wendy said in unison.

"And this wormhole connects Hawkins to here," Dustin drew again. "Another world that I've coined the Abyss."

"Any particular reason?" Robin asked.

"A realm of pure chaos and evil," Mr. Clarke explained.

"I'm sorry?" Robin asked.
