The Catch

Chapter 18

STEPHANIE'S POV

I walk into school on Monday and immediately walk to Emily's locker. She looks up at me and grabs my wrists.

"Ok so I have two pieces of information but you have to promise not to freak out too much." Emily whispers.

I nod once and she starts talking.

"Ok number one, I got here twenty minutes earlier than you of course, but that happens every day. Anyways Eldon came up to my locker and asked me on a second date!" Emily squeals.

"Shut up!" I say smiling. "Hopefully he'll give you a goodnight kiss this time!" I laugh and make kissing faces at her.

After their last date Eldon got really nervous when dropping Emily off at her house and fell backwards into a bush.

She laughs too and continues "Ok and the second piece of info is that West and Thalia broke up." Emily finishes looking nervous about how I'll take the news.

"Really?" I question.

She nods and I'm suddenly filled with dozens of emotions.

I know that I definitely haven't moved on yet but he might've.

"How do you know?" I stutter.

"I went to the bathroom and I saw Thalia and Michelle in there. Thalia was crying and Michelle was comforting her. I went to leave because I don't want anything to do with them when I heard Thalia say that she couldn't believe that West broke up with her and she was the one who was supposed to break up with him." Emily explains.

I nod slowly and try to process what she said before the bell rings signalling that I have to get to my first class.

WEST'S POV

I head to lunch and sit down at a table with the boys.

"So I've heard you and Thalia are over." Daniel says.

I nod and smile "finally!" I laugh.

"Bro you need to go talk to Stephanie." Eldon tells me.

I look over at him and sigh. This is what I want right?

I stand up and head over to Stephanie's table.

When I get there all the girls spin to face me. Except Stephanie.

"Um, can I talk to you Stephanie?" I ask nervously.

She may not want to talk to me ever again because I pretty much told her I had a problem with her, which isn't true.

"Sure." She says emotionlessly and stands up.

We walk out of the cafeteria and down the hallways together in complete silence. We finally get outside and sit down on a bench together beside the school.

"So," I start.

"Why are we here? I thought you had a problem with me. You think that after completely crushing me we can just be friends?" Stephanie interrupts me.

"No. I was stupid to think that I had a problem with you. The only problem I have with you is that you make me crazy. I have counted the minutes since our break up and I regret thinking that just because our parents may be enemies we have to too. I don't want to be your friend or your enemy. I want to be with you. So," I get off the bench and kneel in front of her, grabbing her hands and holding them tightly "Stephanie Grecchi will you please be my girlfriend again?"

STEPHANIE'S POV

I look down at him and slap him across the face.

"That's for breaking up with me and taking so long to ask me out again."

He looks confused and hurt making me smile a bit, knowing what I'm going to do next.

I kneel down on the ground beside him and kiss him.

I've missed him so much and I truly do want to be with him.

I pull away slowly and smile. "That means yes."

He pulls me into another kiss. This one harder than the first. We pull away slowly and we're both grinning from ear to ear.

West stands up and reaches his hand out for me. I take it and stand up.

"What about our parents?" I ask.

"Don't worry about that for now. I'm just happy that we can go back to the way it was." West replies with a wink.

I lean over and kiss his cheek. He wraps his arm around my waist and we walk back inside the school together.
