Heyyy (I say in the most apologetic way for my absence) I'm sorry I think I will forever take months to make new chapters IM TRYING TO STAY CREATIVE. Writers block is on my ass though 😞. Anyways enjoy this chapter! ☝️ I'm more interested and intrigued on where the story will be heading (I get to decide)
Max:
'Tree.....tree....bush...'
Max thought, with his head pushed against his arm in the window.
The car ride was now silent and though there was so much max wanted to say he knew he had to keep it to himself. Nothing was worth losing Bradley and the kindness he was showing to max.
"Brad.."
Finally, max had mustered up the courage to start another conversation.
"Yes, max?"
Replied Bradley trying his best to only stare at the road ahead, whatever max was going to say could make or break the rest of the night.
"You know you can talk to me..right?..whatever is going on with you I'm here."
Max was sincere, he felt more so concerned for Bradley than anything. Considering the way he had been all up in his mind lately and the second guessing of answers...and what he said outside the car?? What was that about?
Bradley's face was solid, focused. This was definitely a cover because when Max really observed he could see a speck of worry in his eyes.
"Max, you really are a great person to talk to. Tonight will be fun"
Bradley's response was very generic, formulated, like he wasn't considering what max had said he was just avoiding conflict or personal conversations.
"Okay...what the hell?? You can't just sit here and act like nothing is going on with you something is wrong with you and for some weird reason you won't tell me?!"
Max had been shouting and in a fit of rage he didn't realize they had pulled into the festival grounds. The car stopped and Bradley was still frozen at the wind shield.
It takes a few seconds before Bradley processed what he wanted to say and though he is definitely unsure he responds.
"This week...I mean like lately...I..Max there's something I need to tell you"
Maxs face becomes serious as they're both fully turned towards each other. Bradley dtaring at the center console with a facade of embarrassment or mane shame? Max could tell.
Right as Bradley breathes in to continue, his phone rings.
Startling them both, considering the silence, Bradley quickly grabs the phone and answers Eleanor's call. This leave Mac annoyed, again. They were so close to a heartfelt and honest talk, Eleanor hadn't bothered max but at the moment he was quite a bit jealous.
"Rain?! Max and I are here though everything looks fine."
Bradley has replied on the phone.
"Just drive up here, I have tarps in the trunk if it gets bad."
He had sounded annoyed with the call, Max couldn't help but feel a bit satisfied.
Ending the call, Bradley sighs. He shoves his face into his big hands and raises his head to rest on the seat.
"We should go find Ian."
He says, still in his distressed pose, maybe this night wouldn't be as fun as Bradley had made it out to be.
The silent treatment had only just started and Max was already over it. It was killing max not knowing what was going on in Bradley's head and as they were checking into the festival, max had determined himself to knowing before the end of the night.
