Bradley:
Well it was supposed to be a carefree night, it was supposed to be fun and enjoyable for everyone.
From start to finish however it has been chaotic.
Bradley was sitting eyes closed head up agains the headrest in the drivers seat, he was indeed lost in thought.
He grabbed Max's hand and rushed him out before thinking. Before thinking of Eleanor, before thinking of finding an explanation, before thinking of anything else he thought of Max.
All Bradley wanted was him safe and out of danger, bursting glass was definitely danger. Bradley had no plan but to get the hell out and keep Max in one piece. It was all that mattered, all that was on his mind.
"Well it's just you, me, and this parking lot Max"
It was true, Bradley chuckled to himself. It was the perfect time to tell Max how he had been feeling, a moment alone with Max. Scratch that, HOURS alone with Max. This could be relieving or absolutely humiliating.
"Well when you say it like that it's intimidating...why are you planning on doing to me?"
Asked Max, clearly sarcasm but Bradley was worked up into a storm anyway
Blushing and restricted of air, Bradley turned quickly to Max with an alarmed expression
"What?! No it's not like that.."
He tried to explain but before the defense of his honor was properly executed Max was laughing over him.
"I was kidding Brad...you couldn't attack me even if you wanted to."
Max was confident and carefree in the way he talked, it confused Bradley. Had he not been feeling this force field around them?! Bradley wanted a conversation that consisted of honesty and seriousness. What was this?!
Regardless of how Bradley felt, Max's comfort was impotent and if this was the way he wanted to go then it was how it would go.
"Lies. I could get you down in less than a second."
Bradley matched the tone Max had, though it wasn't how he was really feeling.
"Well, I'm just kidding with you. I'm sure there's some truth to that."
Max was fiddling with his Jacket zipper while he talked, he tried to sound cool and unbothered but it was obvious there were opposing thoughts that only Max could hear and Bradley was dying to know them.
He waited a bit before the sarcastic mood had died before he said
"Max...I've been..weird with you.."
Bradley slowly approached this conversation. He was slow and his voice was now serious.
Max looked up at him, whatever smirky playfulness that was on his face was long gone and there was a shared understanding.
"I know, but..it's me too. I've been weird too."
Max's head was handling low once again and the jacket zipper was making a fast, annoying sound. It wasn't helping.
"I know, if I could explain...it might make things easier"
Bradley reached past the center console and put his hand over the one Max was anxiously gripping his zipper with.
His face was sincere and vulnerable. A face Max had yet to see, he stopped fidgeting when he saw his face.
"Max, the way I have been acting around you..I mean, the feeling I get when it's just you and me...well I, it's. It's different."
Max was looking deeply into Bradley's eyes, he was intensely listening and there was no way to tell if he knew where this was going.
Bradley had felt the rumbles in his chest and the hot fire that was escaping. This was happening, he was telling Max. He was telling Max everything.
He took a deep breath in and out, his hand still placed on Max's, on top of his chest. He could hear Max's pulse picking up and he felt less alone in the expressions he was pouring out.
"Okay..I think I have..no I know that I have romantic feelings for you."
Bradley finally spit it out, a waterfall of relief spouted out of him. He was free from the secrets he had been keeping from Max, he was free from the uncertainty of himself and his feelings for Max. It was all out, it was done.
After the feeling of relief there was this deafening silence, this pierce through Bradley's heart as he looked back to Max to find him staring widely at Bradley.
The feeling of Max's heart was abnormal, no one should have a heart beat the speed of a race car.
"Oh god. I'm sorry. Max I'm so sorry."
Bradley threw both his hands up to his face and there was only shame, shame and regret in every bone and cell.
"Bradley...no"
Max unfolded Bradley's hands and stared into his eyes with gleam and a small smile.
He slowly cupped Bradley's face and felt his cheek with his thumb.
"I did say, I've been weird too."
Max smiled again but really to himself, there was a sense of pride in his voice and his face. Bradley didn't know why.
Well Bradley was sure he looked like an idiot, he was stressed and confused and he was channeling those feelings into the way he looked at Max, even with his handsome smile he couldn't seem to relax into Max's words.
Max slowly wrapped his arms around Bradley, it was an awkward position as they were both leaned over a big fat center console but it was a tight, warm hug.
Without even thinking Bradley lifted his arms to the embrace, squeezing Max like he had never been hugged before.
"Nothing feels like this."
Max whispered contently in Bradley's ear and it was perfect. Everything was perfect.
