Shelby's p.o.v
After I wrote down some lyrics I laid down and fell asleep. I woke up about 5:00 am. To people talking. Nash must be here. I didn't want to go down, but then my stomach growled and I remembered I needed food to survive and I haven't eaten in 2 days. I sighed and walked down stairs. Nash had his arm around this boy who looked about 5,3. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a handful of raspberries.
"Shelby come here!" I heard my mom shout
I walked in there and could not believe my eyes.
"Alex?" I asked staring at the boy I was just with yesterday
"Shelby?" He followed
"You guys know each other?" Nash asked
"Um, no not really!" He said as he winked unnoticeable at me
I smiled a little and walked back to my room. I texted Alex with my iPod my mom forgot to take while my her, Taylor, and Nash talked
Me- so you my brotha now?
Alex🚲-so you my sista now?
Me-man we are going to raise heck!
Alex🚲-got dat right
I giggled and heard a door shut. I heard people walk to my door. My mom opened it.
"Hey baby girl!" She said closing my door and sitting on my bed
"Hey."
"I know you're going through a hard time, but don't put that out on Taylor. He raised you from diapers. I think he is your dad, he thinks he's your dad, can't you too?"
"But a true dad, wouldn't have lied to me for thirteen freaking years mom! I'm not so upset that he is not my real dad, I more upset that you guys kept this from me as long as you did!" I yelled
"It was Jacobs idea!"
"It doesn't matter! What if pawpaw wouldn't have told you that your mom died!"
"It would have hurt." She said putting her head down
"But I didn't have a mom at all. You have two parents who love you very much!" She said standing up and leaving
I sat on my bed thinking about what my mom said " You have two parents who love you very much!" It rang in my head. Taylor really did love me. But love doesn't require lies. Jake walked in my room and took my journal. I smacked him hard on his face and he dropped the book.
"Don't you ever and I mean ever touch my journal!" I yelled
He slowly got up and tackled me to the ground. We started rolling around and I heard someone laughing. I looked up to see Alex cracking up. I got off the ground and sprung towards him. He caught me and held me in one position.
"Your extremely light!" He laughed
"Thanks, now put me DOWN! I yelled and he dropped me
I landed on my knees and looked at him with my eyebrows arched. He shrugged and walked away. I smiled to myself. "What is it with that kid?" I mumbled to myself
"Does Shelby have a cwush!?" Jake said in a baby voice
"No! I have a boyfriend!" I said walking back towards my room.
I decided to text Luke since it has been a little while. He didn't respond. I decided to got to his house. I told my mom this time where I was going and she made Alex and jake go with me. I sighed and we all walked to his house.
"Who is this guy anyway?" Alex asked
"Shelby's "boyfriend"!" Jake said in a mocking voice
I rolled my eyes and rang the doorbell. Luke's mom answered the door.
"Hey honey! How are you?" She asked
"I'm great! Is Luke here?"
"Yea come on in! He is up in his room!" She said opening the door wide and letting us in
We all walked in and up to his room. Jake opened his door and he was laying on his bed.
"What are you doing here?!" He snapped
"Um we wanted to hang out." Jake said
"Well who is that!" He said pointing to Alex
"Um I'm Alex." He said scratching his neck
"I don't want to talk to her!" Luke said pointing to me
"What did I do!?"
"You ignore my text, then I see you with some guy at the park!"
"I was hanging out with Alex!"
"Oh so you and Alex now!?"
"No! we are just friends!"
"Whatever, go hang out with "Alex" we're through!"  He said
"You're breaking up with me!?" I said tearing up
"Yea, you think I'm going to date a cheater?!" He snapped
"I didn't cheat!" I yelled
Everything was quiet.
"You no what!? That's fine I'm glad we are done! I've had more fun with Alex in three days then I've ever had with you!"
I said slamming his door and running outside. His mom came to the front door.
"Shelby are you ok?" She asked
"Yea I'm fine! Thanks for letting me come over!" I said with a fake smile
She nodded and walked inside. Alex and jake came out shortly and walked with me.
"Want to go to the park?" Alex asked
"Yaaas!" I said gladly
"That's so old!" Jake laughed
I rolled my eyes and continued to walk to the park.
