Seventeen

Alex's p.o.v
I woke up with a smile on my face. I finally get to see Shelby. It's been 7 months. I know a long time. My phone fell in the toilet and I couldn't get a new one. I tried to contact Shelby once and it said her number had changed. The test came back as an error and I had to do it again. Today was the day.
"Alex you ready?!" Lauren yelled
"Yea almost!"
I ran and brushed my hair and teeth. I put on a gray shirt with black sleeves that went to my elbows and black jeans. I slipped on my white converse and ran down stairs.
"Someone's eager!" Matt laughed
He walked outside and I was right behind. We all got in the car and drove to the airport.

We arrived in California a few hours later and I was so excited. He drove to there house and I nearly jump out before it stopped. I ran to the door and knocked. A girl answered.
"Alex?" She asked
"Shelby?"
"Oh my gosh what are you doing here!?" She said jumping in my arms
"The test came back today!"
"Really!?"
"Yep!"
Sophia showed up and Shelby stepped back.
"Alex!" She said hugging me
We all walked in and say on the couch. After we all said hi and hugged we waited for Nash to come with the results. Shelby asked me to come hang out in her room and I agreed. I sat on her bed. Her room was all red and black. It was completely different.
"You look different, in a good way!" I said
"Thanks... I guess and same for you! You're like what, 5'8?"
"5'10!" I laughed
"Gosh! Jakes only 5'5!" She laughed with me
"You've got taller and cut your hair!" I said
"Yea, um Luke thought it would look good." She said looking down
"Are you two a thing?" I asked hoping she said no
".....yea."
I nodded
It was quiet for awhile until we heard a knock. We ran down stairs and Nash was standing with a envelope.
"Nash!" I yelled running toward him
"Alex!" He aid hugging me
We sat down and Nash opened the envelope.
"And Alex is..... My son!" He said jumping up
"Are you serious!?" I asked
"Yes!" I smiled and hugged him again
I looked at Lauren and she was biting her lip looking down.
"How about we all go eat!" Hayes said
We al agreed and loaded up. I was with Jake,Lauren, and Shelby. Jake and Lauren were hitting it off a little. I'll admit Lauren's a pretty 15 year old. She's cool and chill too. I kept looking at Shelby not believing what she looks like now. Her hair is just past her shoulders and straight as a stick. She doesn't have braces and she got a lot taller. She dresses different and even laughs different. I don't know why she changed, she was perfect before. She had been texting the whole ride. It as Luke and a girl named Bailee. She noticed I was staring.
"Got a problem?" She snapped
"Oh um no, sorry." I said a little confused by her attitude.
What's with her! It's like she's an entirely different person! It's making me mad too! I don't like this Shelby. I like the old Shelby who use to laugh at everything and blush over everything and the dimples that would show  when she would laugh. I miss the Shelby Caniff I kissed! I miss the Shelby Caniff who would do anything to make anyone happy. I miss her.
