Shelbys p.o.v
I woke up to a tapping sound. I peeked my eyes open and saw jake standing there.
"What are you doing?" I asked
"I thought we could hang out today, like old times!"
"Ok....?"
"Um get ready we are going to do something fun." He quickly said leaving
That was weird. I crawled out of bed and looked at my phone. No new messages or calls. Strange Alex always texts me in the morning.  I shrugged it off and went to the shower. After I was fine I put my bleached jeans with holes in the knees and a black flowy shirt that said God has a plan on it. After I straight ironed my hair I brushed my teeth and went down stairs. My mom was pacing back and forth and Taylor was sitting at the table tapping his foot.
"Hey guys... What's going on?"
"Oh nothing sweetie!... Uh jake is outside! I think you guys are going to watch a movie!" My mom said
"Ok... Can Alex come?"
There was silence
"He wants it to be just you two." Taylor said
I nodded and walked out side. Jake was standing there.
"Ready?" He asked
"Yep!"
He walked down the sidewalk and I followed. The movies were really close so we walked. We got a large popcorn,2 sourpatch, and 2 large slushies. We ended up watching the newest divergent movie. It was amazing.
"That was awesome!" He said
"Yea that was defiantly the best one!"
He nodded
I checked my phone. It was 1:09. No texts from Alex. I rolled my eyes and stuck it in my pocket. I noticed jake was biting his lip. He has been jumpy this entire time.
"What's going on jake?"
"Uh, oh um nothing!"
"C'mon tell me now!"
"It nothing really!"
I pinched his shoulder and he whined and jumped.
"Ok ok!"
"Tell me!"
"Fine. But you're gonna be mad!"
"Just tell me already!"
"Alex's mom told the police that Nash wasn't Alex's real dad and that she wanted him moved."
"What!?"
"They have to do a Dna test to be sure, but until then Alex has to live with maddies brother who lives in Indiana."
"What if Nash isn't his dad!?" I said nearly in tears
"Then he has to stay with maddies brother."
"But that's across the country!"
"I know."
"Is he gone?!"
"Yea, he left really early this morning. They said it could take up to 2 weeks for the tests to comeback."
"No! I can't wait that long!"
"I know, it's hard on everyone!"
I shook my head and ran. He can't be gone. He kissed me last night! I started crying. What if he lives in Indiana forever. California to Indiana is really far away. My phone got a song and I looked at it.It was from Alex.
Alex🚲-I promise it's all going to work out!
Me-what if Nash is not your dad!?
Alex🚲-it's going to be ok. We will c each other again!

I delta hand on my shoulder and looked up. It was jake.
"Let's go home."
I nodded and Jake put his a around my shoulders and we walked home. When I walked in mom was sitting on the couch.
"Come here!" She said standing up and opening her arms. I ran to her and hugged her.
"It's alright!" She said
I cried and cried. I walked up to my room after we let go. I sat on my bed and started singing. The tears were pouring out now. Why did he did he have to go? What if u never see him again. Thoughts stated crossing my mined. I screamed into my pillow. Why is life so complicated!
