-Once Sebastian returns with our tea, the duel is finished.

-What!?

-My house, my rules, now if you don’t mind, I draw. So Max, what have you been doing with yourself? Keeping busy?

-Just play damn it!

-That’s not very nice, well if you insist. I activate the Fires of Doomsday. This card lets me summon two Doomsday Tokens.

[0/0/1][0/0/1]

-Next I’ll play the continuous spell Dimensional Fissure. That brings my turn to an end.

This is not the same deck he played before is it? How many times does one change their deck?!

-Draw!

That Dimensional Fissure is trouble. I need the graveyard for my deck to work. Until I draw a way to get rid of that card I’ll just have to play around it.

-I summon Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer!

[1800/700/4]

-Destroy one of those tokens now Kycoo!

-You’ll have to do better than that Max.

-Hmph, I’ll set a card face down and end. Your turn.

-Very well then, draw. I activate Bait Doll, now you activate your trap card or if the timing is wrong it is destroyed.

Max’s Bottomless Trap Hole is flipped up.

-Too bad, you can’t activate a trap like that right now, so it is destroyed. Next I’ll sacrifice my last token in order to summon Caius the Shadow Monarch.

[2400/1000/6]

-Caius has a very special ability indeed. I can banish one card from the field, so I’ll get rid of your Ghost Destroyer.

-Crap!

-Not only does your Kycoo get banished, but because it was a Dark monster you receive 1000 damage.

[Max: 8000 -> 7000 LP]

-And now your field is clear, Caius moves for a direct attack.

[Max: 7000 -> 4600 LP]

I’m losing advantage quick!

-Your turn Maxxie.

-Max! I draw! I set a monster and a card and end my turn there.

-Come now come now, surely you have something more? No? Okay then, I draw.

So far he’s beating me effortlessly, kind of how I beat him in our first duel…This is why he is playing this way, trying to make me feel the very same sting of defeat I gave him all those years ago!

-By returning Caius to my hand, I can special summon Genex Ally Birdman.

[1400/400/3]

-Then I’ll tribute him to once again summon my Caius the Shadow Monarch.

[2400/1000/6]

-Not only does Caius’ ability kick in, I can now special summon Illusionary Snatcher.

[2400/1000/7->6]

-Its stats are an exact copy of Caius.

-Two Caiuses?!

-Yes, that is the power of my deck. But of course the only thing that actually changed about Illusionary Snatcher is its level decreased slightly. Now, where was I? Ah yes, Caius was about to banish your face down card.

-My Dimensional Prison…

-Now, Illusionary Snatcher, attack his monster. Ah an Eclipse Wyvern, practically useless if banished straight away, oh well.

His cards counter mine so easily!

-Caius, direct attack.

Max: 4600 -> 2200 LP.

-I’ll end there, you’re up now.

-My turn then…

I don’t know what I can possibly…

-Draw!

As I suspected…This Chaos Burst won’t do me much help…I will have to HOPE he doesn’t remove it like every other time before this.

-I set a card…

-What’s the matter little Maxxie? Back’s against the wall so you’re just going to quit now?

-You know what…? No! I summon Dimensional Alchemist!

[1300/800/4]

-Good.

-Next I’ll use Enemy Controller, tributing Alchemist to take control of your Caius!

-Ah, excellent.

-Caius, attack your clone now!

-Both will be destroyed.

-Too bad they’re both your monsters! I end there!

-I still have 8000 life points and many other monsters like Caius to summon.

-Eh, Master Grimstien?

-Ah Sebastian, you’re back. How lucky for Maxxie here.

-Tea is ready now.

-Good, I bet Max is thirsty after all that dueling.

-What!? No, I am not done yet!!

-Yes you are. I said, when tea is ready, this duel ends. Since I have more life points, that makes me the winner.

-Why you~! I am going to-

-Max. Here.

Grimstien threw a card at Max, who then catches it.

-This…Card…Super-Inner Strength. My card!

-Yes. You may or may not believe this but I am not the same man I once was. I believe in honour now. Since you did not win this duel, you do not win back your old deck, but take this as a token of my friendship. Once you find yourself ready for a rematch, you know where to find me.

-Right…

-You can see yourself out?

-Actually, Grim, can I have some tea?

-Why of course you can!

Grimstien and Max caught up after being apart for so long. They found their passion for dueling and their love of tea would make them good friends for a long time. Eventually Max decided to go home and Grimstien said his farewell. Max walked back down the driveway of Grimly Manor.

Grimstien isn’t so bad. Maybe if I went to his Manor sooner, we would be best friends by now…Oh well, no need to dwell. For now I’ll focus on getting stronger, not only for our rematch but to stop Sabre once and for all.

Max’s phone began to ring.

-Hmm? Director Imad? Shit! Does he think I have caught Sabre by now…!? Hello?

Back at Grimly…

-Finally…I thought he would never leave. Don’t get me wrong, it is fun to catch up with old rivals but that guy could not take the hint.

-Indeed.

-Indeed, indeed. Now then, back to the matter in hand.

Grimstien sat in his chair and switched on his computer system making lots of monitor screens light up. Most of them with pictures of Alice Saky on them.

-Alice Saky, my personal Darkerned Seed. I tell you Sebastian, the way she hunts down other Darkern card holders on her own accord is more than perfect for our cause.

-Indeed Master Grimstien, more tea?

-Do you even need to ask?
