And what an awesome duel it was...So many twists and turns, so many momentum swings and exiting battles. Boy if only someone could see it. I could have a flashback about it now but seeing how I already know what happened, no need to do that. Oh well, time for sleep.

Max was back in his apartment after his duel with Nate.

-He was nice.

Max put his head down onto his bed and quickly dosed off.

A creeping darkness leaked from Max's deck which he placed on his desk. It trickled down to the floor then began to rise up to form a silhouette, then into a body.

It was Dark Illusion. Even he was a little confused on how he got here.

-Interesting...

He spent the night while Max was sleeping to regenerate his physical form some more as he was basically a shadow at this point.

-That card...The one that damaged me so much before has now ensnared me here. No, this body is different, it is not truly physical.

He whispered to himself.

-My real body is elsewhere. This is just, well, an illusion I suppose.

Dark Illusion thought about this opportunity that had just arose.

-Yes...

Alice yawned into the cold night.

-A chance to redeem myself? I guess.

She held in her hand a legendary deck, handed to her by a strange man.

-A greater purpose?

Alice thought back to when she talked to this strange man. He was cloaked and had very long fingernails which looked foul. But he handed her the deck.

-You seek redemption, no?

She nodded and took it.

-So I just...put it on the hill? And that's it?

-Your path to redemption is but a simple one. Do not look into it much my dear.

-Don't leave me in the dark.

-You and I, my dear, we're going to roll back the clock and give an innocent a second chance at life.

-I'm here.

Alice arrived at the hill where the Legacy Ruins reside. She scattered the cards over the grass. Because it was dark, she could not see all the blood, bones and flesh from Davis' slaughter.

-Thank you.

Alice turned around straight away and briskly walked home. She wasn't sure how this redeems her nor did it feel like she had but she now felt a bit foolish for taking the cloaked man's word for it. However, he appeared from nowhere and appeared to have some powerful  so she didn't want to mess with him. Before Alice was infected with the Darkerness she was quite timid and now that it's gone, although not as bad as before, she has reverted.

Max was abruptly awoken by a roaring inferno bursting over his desk. It continued to blaze massive amounts of heat into the apartment. Max got up quickly.

-What the hell!??!

He quickly saw Dark Illusion stood next to it.

-What have you done?!

Max knew his deck was lost. The very thing he spent most of his life building.

-You bastard!!!
