Chapter 5

Louise entered her mom's room, finding her blankly staring at out the veranda with her arms crossed. She grabbed her shawl that was hanging loosely on the backrest of her swivel chair, "Ma?"

"Oh, salamat anak. How's everything?" Dawn said. Staring at her daughter quite deep, remembering the time how her and Richard found out they were just having her and now a lady.

Flashback...

"Hi Love!" Richard greeted her, he just came home from work.

"Hi.." Rachel said, weak.

"Oh, bakit matamlay ka? Are you okay?"

Rachel sighed, "Nahihilo kasi ako eh."

"You want me to take you the hospital? "

"Hindi, hindi. Okay lang a--" She ran to the bathroom as fast as possible.

"Rachel?!" He hurriedly followed her. He found her hovered above the toilet, puking.

He caressed her back and held her hair up, "Rach, okay ka lang?" He said, ofcourse with lambing.

She just nodded. He helped her get up and walk back to the living room, hand around her waist and the other holding hers.

Richard led her to the living room couch. He could tell she wasn't okay. "Love, are you comfortable in your clothes?"

"Bak--"

"Yes or no?"

She sighed, "Yes."

He stood up, gestured his hand towards her, "Let's go, I'm taking you to the hospital."

"Rich, 'wa--"

"I'd rather know bakit ka nagkakaganyan kesa nakikita kang nagihirapan and I have not a single idea why."

"Sige, una ka n--"

"No. Sabay tayo, baka hindi mo kaya. Hilo ka pa, baka kung ano pang mangyari sayo."

He helped her to the car, the same way he did earlier. They arrived at the hospital and she was lying down on the bed, the doctor made her change into a hospital gown.

"Babe, hindi pa ba tayo pwede umuwi? Okay naman ako ah."

"Rach, not yet. We still have to wait for the results of the tests they did."

The door swung open, "Hi Mrs. Gomez, how are you feeling?"

"Better, Doc."

"Well, you should because there's nothing wrong."

"Huh? Anong ibig nyong sabihin?" Richard let go of Rachel's hand and stood up.

"Mr. Montenegro, your wife is 6 weeks pregnant. Sige, maiwan ko muna kayo. Just wanted to tell you the good news. She'll be discharged in a few. I have a recommendation of an OB that will cater to your needs na din. Paano, maiwan ko ma kayo?"

     "Thank you, Doc." And he left.

Richard looked at Rachel. "Rich?"

Richard hugged her, a bit tight. "I love you." he whispered.

Rachel's eyes pooled with tears. "I love you too, Papa."

He chuckles and smoothens her hair back, "Oh, 'wag ka ng umiyak. Masama yan." He smiled and hugged her again, "Our little one is finally here, Love."

"Masaya lang ako."

"Alam ko, ako rin naman eh."

"Lagi ka ng magiingat at walang stress, hmm?"

"Opo."

He kissed her and put his hand on her stomach, "Baby, 'wag kang makulit ha? 'Wag mong papahirapan si Mama."

"Ma? What's wrong?" Louise asked, bringing Rachel back into reality.

"Ah, wala. May naalala lang."

"By the way Ma, malapit ko nanaman kayong iwan uli." Louise looked down.

She needs to get her stuff in her dorm early and has to leave for the US for a bit.

"Oo nga eh, kami na lang ni Paul matitira dito."

"Well, andito naman si Papa," Louise sneaked.

"Ano kamo?"

"Nothing.." Louise smiles naughtily

"Kung ano anong sinasabi mo ha? Haha! Pero seryoso, mamimiss kita anak. Salamat sa lahat. Lahat lahat." Rachel beamed at her, smiling with her eyes watering.

"Asuss!" her face > 😏😊

"'Lika dito, payakap." Rachel opened her arms and Louise went near. She hugged her daughter, filled with love and along side with gigil sounds.

"Mama.. I won't be away for too long. There's FaceTime naman. And, you're very welcome. Basta ikaw."

"Iba pa rin."

"But at least ,right? I love you Mama." Louise

"I love you too, Anak," Rachel said and kissed her on the cheek.

The next morning...

Rachel just woke up. She sat up, took her phone by her nightstand and checked her calendar. No appointments. She sighed.

Richard, meet me at Café France. 1:00pm.

Sent.

.....

Seen at 10:31am

Okay, see you. :)

She went downstairs, ate breakfast, and got herself ready for the day; especially that specific commitment.
