Chapter 47

Ironic

     The next day, they decided to go on an early morning swim. Barely anyone was out.

     Rachel wore her black halter one piece with fairly sexy cuts on the side. Of course, Richard wanted her to wear a layer over it. She went for a simple white tulle. Richard was in his usual white polo, black aviators, and tropical designed shorts. They walked around the shore hand in hand, may pa sway-sway pa. They were definitely #CoupleGoals.

     "Love.."

     "Hm?"

     "After natin mag swimming, do you want to eat at the restaurant first or sa bahay na lang?" Richard asked.

     "Yeah, sa bahay na lang. I'm still full from our breakfast. Dami kasing sinerve. Ikaw?" Rachel looked at her.

     "Yeah, me too. So, siguro mga 5pm, let's head out na?"

     "Sounds good." She smiled at him. God, that smile. (Richard)

     They were a couple tents from the spot that they wanted when Rachel noticed two ladies that were swooning over Richard. She tightened her grip on his hand, making him look at her, and she kissed his cheek.

     He looked at him and heard the ladies. He chuckled and put his arm around her, leaving a kiss on her forehead. "Bilis mo namang magselos," He whispered.

     "Baka sila ang nagseselos. They're the one who's not with the guy that they're swooning over for. Tsaka, I just wanted to let them know na akin ka." Richard felt like he was in cloud nine.

     After an hour or two, they in their cottage just about ready to step out.

     "Did you get everything? Clothes, laptop, charger, cellphone, wallet?" Rachel asks.

     "Yes, Ma'am na spot check na po. And the big bags are already in the car" Richard says, handing her her handbag.

     "Very good!" They laugh then head out.

     Their ride was pretty smooth. Their usual kwentos with their ballads and slow jams playing. Then, Forevermore by Side A played.

They especially sang this part together, hand in hand:

     Then Richard left a kiss on the back of Rachel's hand. But suddenly, they heard a loud horn honking at them repeatedly. Richard couldn't see what it was. Then suddenly, an SUV crashed to their car. One moment, nothing else mattered to them then now.. everything is.. shattered. So ironic.

Richard woke up, he could hear sirens. Red, blue, and white lights flashing. Everything hurt. He touched his forehead and saw blood on his hand. But he ignored it when he saw Rachel right beside him. "Rach.." He tried to say.

Rachel was unconscious. "Sir, 'wag ho kayong gagalaw masyado. We will try our very best to get you and you wife out of there as soon as possible." A medic said.

"Unahin niyo muna siya, please. She's.. she's unconscious." Richard weakly said.

"Sige po, Sir. Relax lang ho kayo, Sir. Relax lang po. We're gonna get yo--" The medic's words started to fade then everything turned black.
