Chapter 6

     Rachel arrived at the restaurant about ten minutes early. What's new? She's always punctual. As she was waiting patiently, a waiter came up to her.

"Ma'am, may I take your order?"

Should I order him his favorite coffee too? Or will it look weird? Or maybe halata?

She sighed, "One Café Latte and One Café Americano, please?"

"Yes, Ma'am. It'll be ready in a few minutes," the waiter smiled.

"Thank you," she said and the waiter nodded.

Five minutes after, she spotted a man in a suit. It's either he had a meeting or has one afterwards. "Rach," she stood up, they didn't know what to do though. They ended up just sitting down.

The waiter arrived with their order, "One Cafè Latte and Cafè Americano for you. Enjoy your stay."

     Richard was surprised. Very surprised. It was his and her favorite beverages since then. Even before they were married.

Flashback...

     "What do you want? You need some energy, Rach. Wala ka nanaman atang tulog kaka-aral." Richard

     "Just the usual, babe." Rachel

     "Cafè Latte for my love?" Richard

     "Yes, please?" Rachel smiled.

     "Of course. I'll be back." Richard

     "Thanks Rich." Rachel

     "No problem, " Richard winked.

     "So," she took a sip of her coffee, "What do you want to talk about?"

     "Rachel, would you let me explain, once and for all?"

     "Wala na tayong dapat pag-usapan tungkol dyan, Richard."

     She was about to leave but Richard held her arm back, "Rachel, please. For the sake of the kids, for the little while that you're here in Manila. Please?"

     She sighed, "Fine, sige."

     "Thank y--"

     "Pero hindi ibig sabihing okay na tayo." Rachel

     "I know, Rachel, I know," he sighed, "Can I start?"

     "Go ahead."

     "Bago kayo pumasok sa opisina ko nung araw na yun, pumasok sya. She told me something, she said she'll do anything to have me."

     Rachel's head was down.

     "I said she can't. Nagkasagutan kami. I'll admit, minura ko siya."

      Rachel was stunned. She knows the deal with Richard cursing.

Flashback...

     "Ano ha?! P*tangina mo, 'wag mong binabastos ang girlfriend ko!"

     "Rich, let's go. Tama na yan."

      As they increased the distance between that man

     "Rich, napaaway ka pa tuloy."

     "Kung tamang away naman eh, bakit hinde?"

     "But wait, grabe yun. Minura mo pa yung tao."

     "I don't cuss at people just because I'm mad. Well that's a small part of it pero I did that kasi kulang na lang sapakin ko yung taong yun. I don't cuss unless I feel na that person should strongly feel how I feel towards them or unless I feel that it's necessary."

     "Tapos niyakap nya ako. Uulitin ko, niyakap Niya... ako," Richard tinkered with his hands a bit.

     "Then I tried to get her off me and then ayun na... 'andun na kayo... and then things happened. Next thing I know wala na kayong tatlo and it was just me and her in my office."

      Rachel felt a bit guilty but then she still remembered the pain and impact that affected her so she straightened up, "And you expect me to believe that, Richard? Bullsh*t."

     "I don't expect you to believe anything but my intention was just to let you know the truth." Richard

     "Well still, what's the purpose? I mean, we can't deny the fact that you didn't even bother fighting for us. But you know, wala naman akong magagawa kung ga---" Rachel

     "Hindi ko na kayo sinundan dahil natakot ako." Richard

     "Natakot ka saan, Richard?!" Rachel raised her voice.

     "Dahil nung araw na yun, yung pagalis na pagalis nyo ng opisina, susundan ko sana kayo. Pero sinabi nya saakin bago ako umalis na kapag ginawa ko yun, sasaktan nya kayo! Kayong tatlo at sabi nya lalo ka na!"

     Richard was looking at her now, "And what do you expect me to do Rachel?! Even I didn't know what to do! But you know what I did? I made the toughest decision in my whole entire life that day! I chose to be the one to get hurt! Pinili ko na lang na masaktan ako at ikaw na emosyonal lang dahil hindi ko makakaya at hindi ko din alam ang gagawin ko kapag may nangyari sainyong masama!" Richard stood up, "Alam mo ba kung gaano kahirap yun?"

     "R-Richard..." Rachel

     "Ngayon, kung wala ka nang sasabihin aalis na ako. 'Yun lang naman ang gusto ko eh. Na habang nandito ka, na habang nandito kayo, malaman mo manlang yung totoo nangyari, Rachel. Yung totoo... " And right there, Richard left.

     When Rachel heard the door of the restaurant shut, she ran to the washroom. She started to sob. She cried.
