Louise's phone buzzed.
Dad : I'll be there in a bit, Sweetie :)
She was about to reply when she already saw his car parking. She sighed. Here we go Louise, here we go.
"Hi anak." They exchanged besos.
"Hi Pa," Louise.
"What do you want to talk about?" Richard asked.
"Well," she sighed, "I'll be blunt na Pa, ha? I want to talk about Mom."
"What about her? Like anak, you kn--"
"Papa, mahal mo pa ba si Mama?"
Richard sighed, taking a sip of the coffee from the tumbler he's brought.
"Papa, ayoko ng magpasikot-sikot," Louise said.
"Anak, hindi gan'on kadali. Mahirap, sobrang hirap," Richard.
"Bakit? Do you think na hindi nahihirapan si Mama? Or even us?!" Louise
"Louise," Richard.
"Ang hirap, Pa. You don't know how we were when we were still in New York. It wasn't even close to being easy," Louise.
"Anak, I don't understand what happened?"
"Tsaka na 'yun, when I can already keeps myself together while talking about it," Louise avoided contact for a bit, "But please lang, when I leave, make sure that Paul and Mama is safe and sound. I don't know what i'll do if something happened, I swear," Louise said.
"I will, Anak. By the way, how long will you be gone?" Richard asked.
"Just a week, probably. I'm just filing for a longer absence, that's it."
"So are we done?"
"For today, yes. But we have stuff to discuss when I get back," Louise.
Richard sighed, "Whatever you say, Anak," He felt the need to at least tell her, "You still want an answer?"
"Yeah, bu---" Louise was shocked hearing his next words.
"Yes, I still love her. It will never change," Richard stood up gave her daughter a quick hug, "I'll see you later, 'Nak."
Louise was stunned. Just stunned.
