Chapter 35

     Richard always made it a point to treat Mama extra special on Mother's day. Richard 'trained' the kids well that they never missed one, not even in those five years.

     While Rachel went to the admitting office, Richard and the two kids planned something small but special that weekend. 

     "You guys ready to go?"

"Uhm.. yeah. By the way, Ma, kayo po muna 'yung uuwi. Ate and I has to buy something for her camera. Lala sent Kuya Manny with her van naman so Ate can use Papa's car." Paul said.

"Sure kayo? Ayaw niyo muna magrest then go out later?" Rachel asked.

"No, Ma, okay pa kami. We'll rest na lang later para isang uwian lang, " Louise.

"Okay. Mag-iingat, ha?" Rachel turned to Richard, "Ready ka na?" Richard nodded.

"Ma, hatid na namin kayo sa baba. We'll bring your bag para maalalayan mo si Papa," Louise.

"Thanks, Anak."

Louise's phone rings, "Okay, let's go! Nandun na si Kuya Manny."

They headed down to the lobby. Thankfully, Richard can walk upright now but Rachel often puts her hand on his back for support. "Oh, dahan dahan lang, " Rachel said as they headed outside.

     Richard let go of Rachel's hand and opens the car door for her. "Rich naman baka maano ka pa --"

     "Mauna ka na." Rachel just look ed at him and smiled. He smiled back, "Go. Pasok ka na."

     She goes inside and he holds her hands as she steps in. Before he follows her suit, he turns around. "Una na kami, Nak. Ingat kayo," he gave Louise a buss on the cheek, then Paul.
Louise and Paul also gave their mom a buss before letting Richard inside.

     "Bye, Ma. Bye, Papa. We'll see you at home, " they got a flying kiss from their mama then they left.

     "Saan tayo bibili?"

     "Uhm.. Powerplant?" Paul suggested.

     "Do they have it there?" Louise.

     "I think so."

     "Sige, du'n na lang. Tara, " Louise.

     They hopped in the car and went to Rockwell.

     Richard saw how Rachel's eyes were attempting to shut. He slowly put his arm around her. "Rich --"

     "It's okay. Tulog ka na. I'll wake you up kapag nasa bahay na tayo."

     "Basta okay ka lang, ah? Pero saglit lang, iidlip lang ako, ha?" She was about to rest her head on the window when he held on to her, "Maalog du'n sa bintana. Dito ka na lang saakin, Love."

"Sure ka? 'Di pa makakaapekto sa likod mo?" Rachel asked.

"Hindi, okay lang." She smiled and gently laid her head on his chest. He kissed her forehead and caressed her shoulder as she drifted to sleep.

His phone beeped in his hand. A text from Paul: Otw to the flower shop. What color/s for today, Pa? Oh, and we'll order na 'din 'yung for your thing.

He looked at Rachel before the replied: All red roses for today pero du'n sa ano, a mix of red, pink, and white :-) btw, nakatulog ba to kagabi?

     His phone lights up: Okay. To answer ur question, no. Baka daw kasi magising ka then you'll need something tapos tulog kami.

     He smiles and kisses her forehead again before replying: Kaya pala.. nakatulog e. Sige, iidlip din ako. Uwi agad :))
