Two worlds, one shield

Chapter 30: Reassurance

Right after leaving L'Arc and Therese, Naofumi and his party followed the crewmate of the ship as he explained that the other heroes were not doing so well. 

Upon reaching the top deck, they witness Motoyasu, Ren, and Itsuki all on the ground looking all sick. 

They hear footsteps and notice that it's Naofumi and his party.

"H-How are you okay, Naofumi-san?"

"C-Could it be...that shield..." Before Ren could even finish asking if it was the Wrath Shield, he covers his mouth as he starts to feel like vomiting. 

This was the first time he's seen all three just looking...pathetic. 

The only conclusion Naofumi could think is that the three get sea sick real easily since it hadn't been a half a day in the boat to end up in this state. 

Though before he could say anything to them, he heard Raphtalia question Garfiel:

"Garf, why are you over there?"

Naofumi turned to see what's going on and noticed that Garfiel hadn't joined them since they arrived at the dock. 

He remained at the door they came from, looking like he's uncomfortable being out here.

"Is something wrong?"

"Nothin's wrong." Garfiel responded though Naofumi was able to pick up on how the demi human boy was looking at the water. The only thing he can think of being:

"What? Afraid of water?"

"N-No! I'm not!" Garfiel immediately shouted, "I just don't want t' get wet."

Naofumi could only smirk when hearing this, seeing that the animal part of Garfiel as taken a bit of control since he's like a cat right now, not wanting to get wet. 

Although this was entertaining, he returned his focus towards the three other cardinal heroes, mainly attempting to speak with Motoyasu and Itsuki about the stuff he and Ren had learned on being able to use everyone's abilities on leveling up.

"Listen, Ren and I managed to make the item refining and all the other stuff we discussed on the meeting—"

"S-Stop it..." Motoyasu spoke weakly, "I don't wanna listen to complicated stuff right now."

"This is important! If you believe those systems exist—"

"Please don't be so loud." Itsuki interrupted, "You're making me nauseous."

"Just listen, if you believe in those systems..."

He stopped himself from speaking upon noticing Motoyasu vomiting on the side of the boat, seeing that these three are just unable to do anything.

'Pathetic.'

He was not impressed by how these cardinal heroes can't handle a boat ride...though he did recall that even in his world there were people that couldn't stand boat rides and would get sea sick. 

With this in mind, he decided to just leave the three be then.

'I guess when we get to Cal Mira I'll tell them...'

That would immediately be discarded since he knows the second they arrive, Motoyasu and Itsuki would jump at the chance to start the EXP grinding. 

Since it was pointless, he might as well just tell them in the future when they are willing to listen to him. 

For now he could focus on waiting for Ren to recover from sea sickness and speak with him and his party to create a plan on how to approach the EXP grinding as a unit.
