Garfiel and Filo entered the city looking amazed as they were following behind Raphtalia and Naofumi, who were being given the tour guide experience by Habenburg.
They were walking around the market with the governor describing the place. Naofumi was silent as he was looking around, not exactly fully listening since he isn't there to be a tourist.
Despite that, he was curious to grab some equipment and materials in these markets once the tour was finished.
While walking around the market, Raphtalia spotted something that grabbed her attention.
Filo was caught off guard by what Raphtalia had grabbed and inspected all the while Naofumi and Garfiel glanced at the two girls before looking forward.
The two were focused on the food they were selling, well mainly Garfiel since he was getting a bit hungry.
Halfway through the market tour when Raphtalia and Filo caught up with the two, Naofumi spotted a totem pole that consisted of a penguin, rabbit, squirrel, and dog stacked one on top of the other.
What got his attention was the attire the animals were wearing, having santa hats.
He also noticed that the penguin was holding a fishing-pole, a rabbit holding a hoe, the squirrel holding a saw, and the dog having a rope.
'What was it supposed to mean?'
As Naofumi attempts to think on the meaning of this totem pole, his thought process would be interrupted when Habenburg spoke to him.
"You have a sharp eye, Shield Hero. These are the four pioneers that brought prosperity to our islands: Pekkul, Usauni, Risuka, and Inult."
Naofumi couldn't help but notice that those four names sounded Japanese, making him think if perhaps they were names of previous heroes. Almost as if being able to figure out what Naofumi was thinking, Habenburg said:
"Just so you know, these were all named by a previous group of heroes. They named them after what these animals were called in their own language, in the land from which they came."
Hearing this could only make the Shield Hero disappointed since in his perspective, the names were ugly and the previous heroes could've tried harder.
"Are there any animals like that on this island?" He asked.
"No, after the island was developed, they moved on to other unknown lands. They haven't been seen since."
'Figured as much.' He had suspected this since it seemed like the island had been here for quite some time though he did question who would make the frontier pioneers be Penguins and Rabbits.
Garfiel looked at the totem and couldn't help but feel off looking at the rabbit, though other than that he was curious on how these four created the islands that make the Cal Mira Archipelago.
"Wonder what they were like." Garfiel said, drawing Naofumi and Raphtalia's attention.
Before they could say anything to him, Filo approached the totem statue with her attention towards a stone pillar with distinct writing.
"What is that thing?"
"An inscription left to us from the Four Legendary Heroes."
"..."
Naofumi approached the stone pillar before moving his left arm towards said stone pillar.
"As source of thy power, the Shield Hero orders thee. Decipher this message and energize my target."
The words on the stone pillar began to glow before the Shield Hero turned towards Filo's direction.
"Zweit Aura."
