Theory Buddies (Rei x Reader)

This takes place when Eternal Summer ends, making Nagisa and Rei 3rd years and Mako and Haru at university.

You had recently transfered to Iwatobi as a 3rd year student. At your previous school, you had been on the swim team. You hadn't been the best swimmer, but you always tried your hardest to improve. One way you tried to improve was to read books upon books about swimming technique and tips. You were planning on trying to join the swim team at Iwatobi, and so you wanted to improve your swimming even more than usual. After all, they had done really well last year, so you thought it was your job to improve enough to make them happy that you joined.

School had just ended and after talking to a boy in your grade named Nagisa about joining. He welcomed you with open arms, literally. Once you asked him about joining, he opened his arms and hugged you. You shook your head but still smiled at the memory of the hyperactive boy. (A/N: When I wrote that, I thought "hyperactive knuckle headed ninja" Naruto anyone?) You were now headed to the school library.

You soon arrived at the library and went searching for the sports section. You would have stopped by the manga section, but you didn't have much time, you needed to get your book and get to swim practice. Nagisa had said they were starting a little bit late today, so you didn't need to rush all that much.

You finally found sports section. Now you just needed to find a book on swimming. You were scanning throughout the books when you finally found a book that seemed like it would help a lot. You reached for it, but another hand also reached. You both pulled back and looked at each other

"Gomennasai," you bowed, "you can have it."

You looked up at the boy who had also reached for the book. He had blue hair and purple eyes covered by red glasses. He looked flustered and pushed up his glasses.

"No, it's fine, you can have it. I don't really need it."

You smiled and bowed again, "Arigato, uh?"

"Ryugazaki Rei," he quickly said and extended his hand, bowing in the process.

"Arigato, Ryugazaki-san. I'm (L/N) (Y/N)." You smiled once again, shaking his hand and bowing, happy that you made a new friend on your first day at school.

He blushed again and rubbed the back of his neck, obviously nervous. You both talked a little longer about theories and similar topics. You were glad to find someone who also shared in you love of theories. You briefly looked at the clock and realized that you would be late to practice if you didn't get going. You grabbed the book and looked at him.

"Are you on the swim team?" You asked.

"Huh?" He asked. He hadn't been paying attention to you, having been looking for another book.

"Well you were reaching for this book on swimming, so I was assuming that you are on the swim team."

"Uh, yeah I am on the swim team. "

"Cool, See you at swim practice Rei-kun~" You sang and hurried off to practice, checking out the book in the process.

Rei blushed at the way you said his name, and shivers were sent up his spine. It took him a few moments to process what you meant before looking at the time and running to the pool like a mad man.

EXTENDED ENDING:

Rei finally made it to pool. Luckily, he was able to change into his swimsuit quickly.

"Rei-chan, why were you so late? You're never late." Nagisa whined.

"I'm sorry I guess I just lost track of time." Rei casually said.

"Eh! Well you missed me introducing our new member, this is (Y/N)-chan!"

Rei turned to you wide eyed and blushed a little to see you in your (f/c) one piece (A/N: yay! I started reading the One Piece manga recently and couldnt put it down!) swimsuit.

"You two can talk a little bit, but hurry up and get ready to swim!" Nagisa shouted as he went over and dove into the pool to start training.

You and Rei looked at each other. You said something to him before giggling at his flustered form and running to the pool.

"You look even better without a shirt on!"

Tehehe, that extended ending was great. Sorry that it was even shorter than Nagisa's. Gomen'nasai!
*bows repeatedly*
Its not that I don't like Rei, it just happened to be a really short one-shot! The Makoto one-shot will be out soon, I am not all that proud of the idea but oh well. Hope you enjoyed it anyways! I am at my brother's baseball game for this club thingy and was so bored that I decided to post this and type a few other one-shots for this. Later, in about an hour, I am going to my two friends birthday party, yay!!!! I'll shut up now.
