Warning, be prepared for some angst ahead!

Reader POV

It was exactly four years ago that you started resenting Christmas Day. Why did you start hating one of the most wonderful days of the year, a day filled with fun, joy and love? It was because of your old boyfriend. You had loved him dearly and thought he felt the same way, but boy were you wrong.

It was four years ago to this day that you walked to your boyfriends house to give him his surprise Christmas gift you had spent lots of time and money getting. You had wanted your arrival, and the present, to be a surprise, so you had pulled out the spare key he had given you a long time ago. When you walked in, you were more surprised than he ever would have been with his gift. The man you had loved so much and treated so well had been cheating on you, and from the looks of it had been for a long time.

It was one year after that discovery that you hated Christmas and everything to do with it. You didn't buy or accept presents, but luckily everyone understood. They still wanted you to be happy, so they would often encourage you to try and forget about that incident and move on by getting a new boyfriend, but you weren't ready for that.

"Forget that jerk, don't let him ruin your Christmas," they would always say.

But how could you? You had been so in love and so happy with him that you never even saw the signs and always thought everything was perfect. You were very sad because of that but yet you were more angry than sad. You were angry and frustrated that he had taken advantage of you so easily, and that you were so easily fooled. That's why you found it hard to trust people anymore.

Two years after it happened, you weren't any better like your family and friends had hoped for. If anything, you were worse than the previous year. Two years of sulking, and you had begun to think that nothing good would happen to you ever again. Yet, two years ago is when everything changed once again. That's when you met him, the light of your life, your reason to be happy.

His name was Nitori Aiichirou. He was a small and fragile man with silver hair and big shining blue eyes. Well, he looked fragile, but in reality he was very strong, in body, mind, and heart. He had been a swimmer in high school, so he was strong enough to stand up to all the people who teased and bullied him.

You once asked him why he didn't fight back and he simply said, "I don't want them to get hurt."

You were always in wonder when thinking of this man and his gentle and caring personality, even when you first met him.

--Flashback--

"Why did my sister drag me here with her to shop when she was just going to ditch me?" You groaned to no one in particular as you wandered around the shopping mall, arms crossed, a frown on your face.

You turned, looking to see if she was in the shop you were just passing, when you bumped into someone's chest, falling on the ground.

You were in such a bad mood, because you didn't like to be ditched, and because Christmas was almost here. Two years ago you probably would have apologized so much that you lost your voice, but not now. That's why you couldn't control what you were about to say.

"Hey!" You growled angrily, "Watch where you're goi-"

"Oh my, I'm so very sorry. I should have been looking where I was going but I guess I got distracted. I'm very sorry!" Said the voice attached to the feet in front of you.

You looked up, surprised. Why were they apologizing when you were the one obviously not paying attention. You were even more surprised when you saw the man in front of you bowing at a ninety degree angle and holding his hand out to help you up.

--End Flashback--

He had always been very kind to you. Not only did he bring you out of your depression, but he taught you to love and appreciate Christmas once again. He was probably your closest friend and even though you had told yourself you weren't going to ever trust another man with your heart again, you let Nitori have it, for he was not only your best friend, but your secret crush.

You smiled at the memories as you locked your door. You hadn't told Nitori your feelings yet, so you figured today would be a great day to do so. You held a bouquet of flowers in your hand, and his present in the other.

"How can you love Christmas if bad things have happened to you on that day?" people now asked you.

"Because of Nitori," you simply responded, and it was true.

He had changed you and been there for you whenever you needed him. He even made you realize what true love was, and that what you had held for your previous boyfriend wasn't really love, just a schoolgirl crush.

You happily skipped to where you were going to meet the silver haired man. Normally you would have been very nervous to meet him and tell him that you loved him, but one thing he had helped you with was your self confidence. The fact that his friends had told you a while ago that he loved you too was also a confidence booster.

You finally arrived at the rendezvous, and wandered in, immedietly knowing where your best friend would be. When you saw him, you thrusted the flowers and gift forward with a huge smile on your face.

"Merry Christmas, Nitori!"

You suddenly set the gifts down and laid down next to him. You fiddled with your hair for a little bit before you finally said what you needed to.

"Nitori, there's something I need to tell you," the silence urged you to continue, "I actually wish I had said this earlier, but oh well, better later than never, right? I... I love you Nitori, I have for a while now but never wanted to tell you to save my heart from being broken again."

You smiled at the silvered haired man's response, it was exactly what you expected, silence. You just smiled knowing that even though he didn't respond he felt the same way.

You sat in front of him like you did last year too, and spent how you would spend all of your Christmases for a long time into the future. You sat on the cold snow in the graveyard for the rest of the night.

Still can't belive I wrote freakin angst...

Merry Christmas!!!! I hope you all get what you want this year and that this one-shot didn't make you too sad. I promise that I will post a happier one with Nitori that I had planned out before I thought of this. I was decorating cookies alone when I thought of this idea, my brother went to take a nap so he could get up early in the morning to do a Santa Tracking livestream that he has done for 4 years now and my mom needed to do some last minute shopping, and so I guess my lonliness casued me to think of an angst one-shot.

Good-bye Reader-chan!!! Have an anime filled day!!! And Merry Christmas once again!!!
