Quiditch ended around noon. Three hours seemed to pass by in minutes. I was suprised at how much fun I had. I learned some really weird things about James. Like how he was on his third wand because of two tragic accidents, and that he can belt almost every song played by "The Weird Sisters". I think he learned a lot about me too. Like I dont tell many that I play muggle sports during the holiday. I deeply enjoyed football. It is really fun.

We are both still laughing as we enter the Gryfindor tower. James accidently lit one of McGonagoll's books on fire, and we soaked one of the desks trying to put the fire out. It was hysterical. We get into the common room and look at our friend groups. They are both sitting on completely sitting on opposite side of the room, eyes wide open. James was the first to say goodbye. "Well, I guess I better go over to my socially awkward looking friends."

I laugh. "Yeah, my socially awkward friends probably miss me." We both walk away smiling. It was an odd feeling, liking James Potter. "Hi guys," I say to my friends.

"What the hell was that?" Willa asks. She is never one to curse or get mad.

"Um, what are you talking about?" I ask. My tone is meaner than I want it to be.

"Earlier today you were crying because having detention with James Potter was supposed to be hell. Now what? James Potter seems like the best thing that has ever happened to you!"

"Listen Willa, I may have been wrong."

Carol chimes in. "What did McGonagoll make you do?"

"Talk. It was fun."

She looks confused. "Did you just say talk?"

"Yeah. McGonagoll decided the best way to start a million hours of detention is to settle our differences. So she locked us in a room, and told us to talk."

"You honestly think that's what he was doing Lily?" Evi spits. "He doesn't want to be your friend. You have known James for years. He only wants to be more. Don't be stupid Lil."

"I am not being stupid. You weren't there. None of you were. It was us being friends. We started over. If can't respect, then do not talk to me." I walk away after I say that. I could not deal with people bringing me down.

--------------

I did not talk to my friends. I was mad at them. How could they honestly believe that I was just being tricked by James. I was not in a mood to talk to them, so I didn't. I spent Sunday by myself in my room, because there was no detentions on Sunday. I was not saying that James was my best friend either. It is going to take a lot longer than one detention for him to buddy up to me like that.

It is Monday now. It is 5:45 on Monday night, to be exact. Which meant I must make my way to detention, day 2. The way to McGonagoll's room seemed much quicker. I enter her room, James already there again. "Hi," I say, not directly to James or McGonagoll.

James responds immediatley, "Hey Evans."

"Now that we have had reunions, come with me both of you. I have a job for you." McGonagoll snaps. She leads us out to the Quiditch fields. I don't look at James. I know he is upset though. "I want these stands spotless."

James takes out his wand, "Easy Proffes."

"Accio Wands!" cries McGonagoll. Both of our wands go flying into her hand. "Without magic Mr. Potter. I will be back here at 9 o'clock." She leaves with no further words.

We work diligently, hoping to make it home before the sunset. I start to make conversation to break the silence. "Why are you so obsessed with Quiditch?"

He looks up in shock. "I am not that obsessed! What makes you think that?"

I begin to laugh. "The blown up hair as if you just got off the broomstick. Having that stupid snitch follow you all the time. And I've heard you sleep with your broom."

"And who did your hear that from?" He looks very curious.

I laugh so hard I can barely speak. "Remus," He had told me at the end of last term.

"Remus? I am gonna kill him!"

I am still laughing when I speak again. "That's not true, right?"

"Of course not!" James cries defensivley.

We work in silence for a long time before either one of us speaks again."You still never answered my question." I say.

"What?" he asks, rather confused.

"Why are you so obsessed with Quiditch?"

"I dont know." he pauses. "I guess it is because it is the only thing I am really good at."

I chuckle at little, "Oh come on James, you are good at everything."

"Not in my mind," he says without looking up. We stay silent for a long time. We end up talking again about other random stuff.

That is how everynight that week went.  A serious conversation followed by small talk. It was nice though, having a friend. My friends still wern't really talking. And James was a good friend. I am glad that all he wanted to be was friends now. Or at least it seemed like it.

*********

Not my best work.

And sorry for my late chapter, things have been crazy. School trips that depart me from my beloved computer. It's slightly depressing.

No worries though! Chapter will come quicker as summer arrives!

Kisses!
