Chapter 7
I shoved Chase as hard as I could, making him stumble back. As we walked out if the house and down the stairs.
"Hey what's your problem?" He questioned my action.
"You're my problem! Damien could have really hurt you!" I snapped crossing my arms over my chest. I mean he didn't get the reputation of being a bad ass for no reason at all.
"You were worried about me?" He gave me his all too familiar smirk making me blush. I stood there with my mouth slightly open starring at him not being able to say a single word. I was beginning to get mad at him and all his assumptions.
"I never said that. " I turned around so fast that I'm surprised I didn't get whiplash.
"I'm alright babe I can handle myself, and I can definitely handle Damien, that mutt." His words laced with bitterness. He touched my shoulder making me relax almost instantly, I released a breath that I didn't even know I was holding.
"Fine. Whatever Chase, can you just please take me home? "I was looking down at his blue vans. This was too much excitement for one day.
"Let's go then." He said as he walked down the last step and onto the sidewalk. He turned around and reached out his hand, gesturing me to take a hold of it. I stared at it wondering what exactly this gorgeous boy in front of me really wanted from me. I finally snapped out of my train of thought and reached for his extended hand.
He intertwined his fingers with mine sending tingles up my hand and arm.
I stared down at our intertwined hands for a moment trying to hold back a smile. Chase just stared straight ahead he looked so confident. What was this strange boy doing to me, what did he want?
He tugged at my had so gently ushering me to follow him to his car. I felt like a lost puppy for a moment lost in the moment doing as I was told.

We had finally arrived at my house. Unfortunately for me my mom had arrived home earlier than I assumed from her 'business meeting.' Her car was parked in the driveway and I could see the lights on in the living room. Chase had to help me sneak in.
Yay me.
The only good thing was that the ladder that Chase had brought to sneak into my room was still in its place. I can't believe my mom didn't notice it. No better yet that Jason hasn't noticed it.
The downside though was that I was terrified of heights. Imagine if I was tall, I would have a heart attack every 5 min.
"This is all your fault Chase." I whispered as I smacked him on the chest. I could have already been under my covers sleeping, but no, instead I was sneaking into my own home.
"Just hurry up princess, don't worry I'll catch you if you fall." He tried to reassure me. Not helping!
"Chase oh my god I know I am going to die." I whined almost whimpering.
Me afraid of heights was no laughing matter.
"Promise that you'll catch me if I do fall." I had turned around not wanting to look up at Chase because I knew that I was on the brink of crying.
He lifted my chin with his finger so that I could look at him.
"I promise. " Sincerity written across his face.
At this point I knew that I could trust him. I could trust this boy with my life. This stranger.
I nodded in reassurance taking in a deep breath, I turned around and slowly started climbing up the ladder.
