Chapter 3

Have you ever had an awkward encounter with an ex? Not that "oh let me hide, I don't want to be seen by them" kind of awkwardness, but instead "I am so angry with you, I fucken hate your guts, get out of my face but hold me and kiss me before you do get out of my face" kind of awkward moment. That very same moment that you just want to lash out at them, but still want them to hold you one last time kind of moment.

Well, that was just this moment right now. I could see the expression on Maggie's face as she gazed up at Damien. Sadness in her eyes but deep down there was something more that I couldn't decipher. Maybe guilt. Almost worried.

But to be honest Maggie had all the right in the world to feel what she was feeling at that very moment. From what she had told me, Damien had made her believe that he LOVED her, I say loved because he told her that, or at least that's what Maggie had told me that he had said. She made the mistake of believing him. She made the mistake of giving herself to him, he had taken her virginity.

I remembered her calling me the very night that it had happened. That as soon as he had dropped her off at her house, Damien had told her that he wasn't looking for anything serious, but that he would enjoy hooking up again. can you believe that PIG!

I had stayed up with her all night that day. Eating ice cream and chocolate. Saying how we were going to swear off guys, because they were no good. Then again that was 2 years go. After that session of her crying 2 weeks after Damien crushed her, Maggie hooked up with Alexander.

"Hey four eyes why don't you watch where you're walking." Damien growled out, "Or do you need a new prescription?" dusting off his shirt where my face hit his chest as if I had left some sort of residue that only he could see.

"Why don't you fucken watch where you're walking you fucking ass wipe." Maggie quickly retaliated.

"Are you looking to have a good time with me too, she obviously told you what a great fuck I am." he said with such a devilish grin on his face. "Get out of my way or trust me, I'll make you regret it." Damien growled at Maggie. Christian instinctively walked behind her putting his hand on her shoulder, causing Damien to smirk. Damien chuckled " what are you going to do dork much."

Ok fine, yeah in all honesty he was gorgeous, and those green eyes that almost mirrored mine, were something out of this world. His though gave off just a hint of darkness. I always thought that it was such a shame that his heart couldn't have been as beautiful as his face.

Breaking the tension between Christian and Damien, I broke the silence. "I clearly bumped into you because I didn't notice you, signaling just how insignificant you truly are to me." I said astonishing myself, making me feel even braver that I truly was, because let's face it in reality I was a scared little girl inside. But not right now not with Damien I was going to stand my ground. Crossing my arms in front of my chest I stared him down. Or better yet up.

He then took his focus off Christian and Maggie. To my surprise he just chuckled glancing over at me, giving me an almost half smile, reflecting me as well, crossing his arms in front of his chest making his shoulders look even broader. He was trying to intimidate me, I wasn't budging. I felt my jaw clench.

He lowered his gaze to mine.

"Don't get ahead of yourself." He whispered to me, giving me a chill down my spine "you need to realize who exactly you're defending. Where her loyalty lies." he said as he quickly shoved in between Maggie and me causing us both to stumble. What exactly did he mean by that? What was he trying to say?

"I hate that douche." I heard Christian say as we just stood there watching him walk towards this dumb blond wrapping his arm around her. It was as if he felt like he had a claim on all the female students here. They let him think that, signifying that he basically did.

The three of use made our way to the cafeteria. In an almost silence gesture, I still couldn't believe how much Damien had killed our mood. But what was the cherry on top of all mood killers was seeing Brandon eating with the girl that hated me the most and don't get me wrong the feeling was mutual. He just had to be eating with Nicole.
