Chapter 27

"Emma." My daydream of Chad Michael Murray and I interrupted by Mr. Rushton as he called out my name.

"Yes sir?" I looked up from my notebook to look up at the teacher.

"Please stay after class." The 'ohs' and chuckles from all the students only made me roll my eyes at their childish antics.

I nodded my head in agreement, I glanced over at Chase, who was currently taking a nap on his desk, he had finally returned from his family weekend last night and he decided to climb up my window and spend the night with me.

Bad idea, he claimed that I hogged up the blanket and that I sucker punched him in the jaw while we slept. I know you're all probably wondering, asking yourself why he slept over.

Ladies and gentlemen, like I had a freaken choice! He refused to leave my bedroom, and well I kind of sort of gave in since I did have to wake up early for school the next day and I got tired of telling him to get out.

But look at him now, asleep on his desk. That's what he gets for being stubborn.

"Chase wake up." I reached over to nudge him a little on his shoulder to wake him up. "Come on the bell is about to ring."

He gave me a lazy smile and ran a hand through his hair.

The dismissal bell rang, all the students stuffed their belongings into their backpack or purses and started to make their way out through the door and onto the hallway, trying to hurry and not be late to their next class.

"I'll be out in a little bit, the teacher wanted to talk to me about something." I smiled at Chase.

"No more tutoring Emma." He gave me a small kiss on the lips and walked out closing the door behind him.

"I see that tutoring Damien has been good for him, he managed to get a B on his last exam." Mr. Rushton fixed the stacks of papers that were scattered on his desk.

"I'm glad but I don't think I can keep tutoring him, you know permanently." I crossed my arms over my chest.

"It's ok, it seems that he won't be here all next week.." He reached for his glasses that sat on his pointy noise and took them off, rubbing his eyes. He seemed tired.

"Is he ok?" I uncrossed my arms. Suddenly I remembered him telling me about his dad. After that night that he told me about his dad he hadn't sent me a message on my phone or even tried to call me, it's not like he would do that on a normal basis, but he at least tried to send me a text and bug me and now nothing.

"Emma did you hear me?" I suddenly looked up and Mr. Rushton was leaning against his desk looking at me, no studying me. "I said that you can go, I just wanted to let you know that you don't have to bother on tutoring him."

"Oh, ok thank you." I turned around to head for the door and stopped. "You know I can take his homework for him, so he won't get to behind." I turned around to look at the teacher.

"Come by after school and I can give you his homework, I doubt he will do it, but you can try." He smiled at me. I reached for the doorknob and walked out of the classroom.

I couldn't concentrate. My mind kept drifting off to Damien. I couldn't just leave school, it's not that I didn't want to it's just that Chase was my ride, and I had no way of getting home unless I wanted to walk.
