Chapter 21
It was finally the end of the day. Physical education class. Better known as the class that beats me down.
Our gym teacher decided that it would be fun to run 10 laps around the football field. He must have been the talk of the party in his days.
Chase had agreed to run with me but in all honesty, I was slowing the man down. So, I told him to run ahead. I mean, I am not the most athletic type out there and ok after the first half a lap I was dying. I believed that I would hyperventilate! I mean the man was obviously trying to kill me. And to make it worse every time I passed the damn bleachers there was Brandon locking lips with Nicole. I really don't know what Maggie's sees in him; I don't know what I ever saw in him!
I was already chocking on air I didn't want to add nausea to the picture too.
Finally, I was halfway through the 10 laps when the coach blew his whistle, meaning for us to stop running and walk toward him to listen profoundly to what he needed to say. (Not my words they were his when the school years started.)
"Ok listen up its already the end of the day for those of you that didn't finish you can finish up on Monday."
I couldn't do this Monday I mean come on! My face is already red and unattractive, my legs felt like jelly and to top it off I refuse I repeat refuse to do this!
Suddenly I felt Chase next to me. His hand rubbing soothing circles on my back. "Eww you're sweaty." I slapped his hand away from my back and narrowed my eyes at him.
"Nobody told you to touch me." I snapped back.
"Hey, calm down I was only trying to cheer you up." He raised his hand in a surrendering gesture.
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes at him. "You're going to pick me up at 5pm right."
"I'll call you when I'm outside."
The bell rang, signaling that we had 15 minutes before school was official over. "I'm going to shower I hate sweating." I cringed as my P.E. uniform that was sticking to my sweaty back. Yeah, very attractive, NOT!
"Mhmmmm." Chase closed his eyes as a smirk formed on his lips.
"Stop being a perve." I pushed him. He chuckled in response as he jogged over to the boy's locker room, while I on the other hand basically waddled over to the girl locker room. And to think I must endure this on Monday. What cruel way to start of next week.
I took a quick shower in one of the shower stalls wanting to get the sweat out of my hair. Quickly getting out and putting on my clothes I put my hair up in a messy bun. Grabbing my bag, I made my way out of the girl's locker room.
Chase was leaning against the wall of the locker room fidgeting with his phone, his hair still wet. He looked so cute, the way his hair stuck to his forehead instead of it being tussled, it almost made him look like a child.
I made my way towards him breaking him from his phone, I smiled at him, and he smiled back looking down at me. Grabbing my hand and interlacing our fingers we walked over to the school library, the closer we got the more I sensed the anger that dwelled in Chase as he clutched my hand just a little tighter.
Damien came into view; he was leaning against the library wall one foot again the wall and his arms crossed in front of his chest.
Before completely reaching Damien, I stopped a couple of feet trying to avoid the confrontation between the two of them. I turned to face Chase. "You'll be here in 2 hours right at 5pm?" We were facing each other holding each other's hands.
