Chapter . Seventeen

"Bro, you know what happened to the those two guys one of them ended up in the hospital",

"Nah, that's just a load of bullshit, I mean this ain't Stranger Things, things like that just don't happen",

"You can say that again",

"Anyway, how often do people-",

"Woah where the hell did he just go?",

"George, what the hell was that?",

"I don't know man?",

Something big, and fast was moving around the small group of friends, suddenly everyone was standing up right and looking around. 

"Run !",

I was running as fast as I could, some of my friends who were right there with me, were gone as fast as their last breath, all I could think of why the hell didn't I stay home like my mum asked me too. 

I could see the police station right there and ran as fast as I could, I started banging on the door, a figure came and thank god it was the sheriff.

"Sh-sheriff there's a fricken monster it just killed my friends, please I need help",

(Lili waking up from a nightmare)

I awoke to myself heavy breathing and my nose suddenly bleeding, Kylo was up and started barking. I wiped away the sleep from my eyes and cleaned the blood from my nose, I then had a look out my window. Someones car was parked in our driveway.

As I made my way outside, I had a long babydoll grey cardigan with large buttons, peered with slippers. 

"Spencer, is that you?",

"Oh, hey Lil's, do you think we could talk?",

"Spencer, it's 3 in the morning",

"Please, I kind of need to get my mind off of my sister, if that's okay, I mean we can sit in my car if you want. It's much more warmer",

I sighed, looked back and looked at Spencer who was by his door. Kylo was by me and I wrote a quick note for my aunty and closed the door, and Spencer and I were in the car with Kylo.

I thought it was a better idea if she tagged along, incase Spencer and I got off on the wrong foot.

Spencer and I drove by a small food junction and he got a bunch of snacks, I was hoping he realised that some of us still had school to go to. We sat in silence for what seemed like awhile, Kylo was happy in the back munching on some doggy treats, I couldn't help but feel a bit envious of her aloof nature while I put myself in this situation.

"I just wanted to say I am sorry about everything, the shop, my cousin, my sister and-",

"It's okay, you don't have to", I said,

"No I, what I am saying is thank you for being there for Avina, she was attacked by something big, but she's doing well and she wanted me to give you this",

He gave me a bracelet with beads and a one of the beads was silver that had a wolf emblem engraved on it.

"Oh no, I can't Spencer",

"Please, I insist. i too have one", he chuckled,

"It's a protection bracelet supposed to keep you safe",

"I also just wanted to say thank you, without you my sister would probably have been much worse",

I nodded.

"I also wanted to say",

"Kylo sit girl", I said.

"Sorry what did you want to say to me", I said staring at him.

We were both looking at each other, and the words that blurted out of his mouth surprised me.

"I love you", he said.

"Wai-wait what I meant to say is I really like you and these past few days, I just want to say I really respect you",

"Okay, thanks Spencer",

"You know, you shouldn't leave a girl hanging when shes supposed to be tutoring you, you know",

"So are we good?" he asked,

"Yes", I put my hand out for him.

"Let's shake on it",

"Deal", he said taking my hand in his and shaking my hand.

We talked for hours and he managed to sneak myself and Kylo back into the house, apparently he wouldn't be in school for two more days as Avina will need someone to watch him. I said I can volunteer for one of those days so he wasn't missing out on school or work, including hockey. But I gave him my class notes from some of my classes and also asked if Daisy could catch him up for the days he missed and she obliged. 

When those two days went by, it was as if everything was feeling somewhat normal. Myself and Lyde had completed our assignment early and it was just us two now completing the smaller assignments which we both finished fast. So we spent most of those classes together just getting to know each other, I found out that the reason he was with his aunty was because his real dad told him to move in with his dads brother. But, his uncle and aunty are not actually together. They are both seeing other people but share the place, his dad is in town but doesn't know that he has a son.

I told him that I would never tell his secret, the other thing is he barely hangs out with his friends and I invited him to join us a few times but he mostly declined or bought me to our new spot during lunch times when he found me going to the library with Natalia.

Interesting enough, we talked about my mum and my dad, he mentioned a few times that he could find some information out about them. Natalia and I were still unable to find things out about these things, although she was definitely like Nancy Drew in our small group. 

While I was eating at morning tea, Daisy and Stacey both told me to look up, Spencer was laughing next to me after stealing one of my food.

Lyde was standing in front of us, "Can I join you guys?", he asked.

"Um, yeah", said Stacey.

Lyde sat next to me while Spencer stayed on the other side of me, the names "Spencer", he said.

"Lyde",

"That's Stacey and Staceys boyfriend, those two are in their radio club and that over there is my cousin and your cousins bestie Natalia",

"Hi", she said.

"Hi",
