Music playing: Heat Waves by Glass Animals
(Before boarding flight to Oaks View)
I was very nervous and very anxious, the sweat on my brow could be visible. My hands became clammy and sweaty. I couldn't shake off the very thought, that I would be staying with distant relatives of my father.
I didn't want my dad to worry about me; I sighed heavily.
"Well aren't you going to give me the parental prep talk", I suggested.
My dad looked at me confused for a bit, "Oh right", he smiled, he then started counting with his fingers.
"No talking to boys, no talking to strangers-",
"Not that", rolling my eyes mentally - with a small smile.
"Just be careful, and be safe okay?", Dad said looking at me with a worried expression.
"Dad, I'll be fine",
"I know, I know you will",
"It won't be for long", I wanted to hold my dad to that promise.
"I want you to contact me as soon as you reach and every other day", he continued.
"Think of it as a diary", he suggested, pulling me into one last embrace.
"Flight to Oaks View is departing in ten minutes", sounded the speaker.
He gave me a quick pat on the head, I hurriedly went off to board my plane to Oaks View I got this encouraging myself to be brave.
(Time Skip: Few Hours later - Arrived in Oaks View Airport)
I started repeating my mantras to myself and reminding myself of three things I was rather grateful for; I am grateful for my dad supporting me, I am grateful for having my suitcases with me and I am grateful to have my phone with me I thought and mumbled under my breathe.
I saw retreating figures in front of me make their way to people; embracing each other in a hug. I didn't know what my fathers cousin looked like, dad described her to be fierce, down to Earth with striking green eyes similar to his own.
Gee thanks dad I thought annoyed at my father for not being in contact with his relatives as often and then suddenly sending me here, it's like looking for a needle in a hay stack. My dad hadn't been to his hometown that both he and my mother and him had grown up in since his adolescence.
I saw my reflection as I passed a window, I looked like a walking corpse my dark circles were evident. I had become more pale than I usually was, my clothing was barely tugging to my small frame. I sighed, taking in my appearance - I suddenly thought about my eye colour they were a shade of light brown with a tint of green, my father had deep green eyes and my mother had light hazel.
Just breathe Lili, just breathe you can do this I reassured myself
I then steadied my self and my suitcases in either hand, I rolled myself and my suitcases out of the way. I stood there for a moment not sure of where to go from here.
Dad had given me my aunts number, I quickly scrolled through my contacts list - sure enough my father had saved her contact.
I dialled the number under 'Aunt Kera' with a shaky hand; and let it ring.
"Hello-" said a lady on the other end of the line. I stayed quiet not sure whether to talk.
"Lilian is this you??", the voice said,
