Chapter . Twenty-nine

'My daughter' kept running in and out of my mind and it didn't sit pretty with me. Why was this man I had just met, now just calling me his daughter and how the hell did this even make any sense.

"Lili, are you okay", whispered Lyde,

It took me time to focus and out of no where a beeping sound came, and I could hear a familiar sound, a dog barking Kylo I thought,

"Oh, my god it's my mum" Daisy said,

"We need to leave, before the cops come" 

"No, I haven't had my revenge", said Roze,

"That's enough Roze, boys let them go and bring the kid",

"Wait we are taking her?", said Roze

"Wait, we can't, it isn't safe for her", said Lyde, putting an arm in front of me.

"It's my brothers kid Lyde, she's coming with us",

"She's a half-ling, she can't change like the rest of us",

"Half-lings can change when they hit a certain age of maturity",

"Who cares, she's weak, we don't need her in our pack",

Everything was starting to make sense now, my mum and her diary, the fact that there were attacks, people going missing. They were behind this, Lyde was a part of them and so was Roze...so was my real father?

Also, they were not human, they were what Natalia had just described ...'humans that can take the form of an animal' they were werewolves.

"Hey you crazy dickheads, let us go !",

"Alright pack leave them, but take the girl",

"No, you can't, where she goes. I am going too" said Daisy,

"Me too" responded Stacey,

"Me three",

"You'll have to just take the whole lot of us" said Mike saying with gritted teeth. He was being held down from his neck by one of Hugo's sons.

The horn tooted loudly from outside, "The police are on their way !",

"Lili are you in there ?!", I heard my name being called, it sounded just like Spencer.

"Spencer, we are in here !", I shouted back,

"Help us Spencer !", "Spencer we're in here, Lili is too !", everyone who was speaking shouted out loudly for help to hear us.

"I knew it, thank you Kylo, I knew we could rely on you", Spencer spoke,

"We got a gun and we aren't afraid to use it, take it away Kera",

She started shooting her gun outside, and we could hear them coming closer. The 'pack' were then rushing and started making their way out.

Lyde had his grip on me, "NOOOO !", screamed Daisy for me,

Lyde was pulling me with him, when we reached the other side of the warehouse, he pulled me in close and whispered in my ear 'run',

(A few minutes later)

Gun shots could be heard and so could screaming and Kylo's bark. I was going to make my way back to everyone else on the other side of the warehouse. But Lyde got pushed to the ground we I had begun running, I went to push the guy away and the other men had run off, including Roze. 

Lyde started grunting, when I went to his side trying to help him up. Then without a second thought, I was knocked to the ground, almost making me semi unconscious. My head started to feel a bit heavy, I started to feel dizzy.

"Scram half-ling", spat the guy, who knocked me to the ground.

Then, all I could see was Lyde and the man fighting, they were throwing fists and dodging. The fight felt like forever, as they shoved and grunted between hits.

"Run !", said Lyde to me

I stayed put, there was no way I was going to leave, not after he just saved my ass right now.

"Are you deaf? I said run !", he shouted again,

I started looking around and then I found a spade, I lifted it up and when Lyde was on the ground I quickly hit the back of the guys head, knock the guy out.

"Nice hit by the way", he breathed,

I rushed over to him, hugging him tight with tears streaming down my face.

Lyde must of felt off, but he embraced me into him and we were hugging briefly. Until he was suddenly pulled off from me, earning a punch from a very angry Spencer.

"Spencer", I called out, trying to both catch my breathe and break them up,

"Spencer! Thats enough !", I shouted.

"Sorry, but he hurt you",

I shook my head "No, that bozo on the ground did",

Lyde was wiping the side of his mouth, it now formed a bloody cut. For some reason he looked so handsome, but this was not the time for intrusive thoughts like this to occur. Also the fact that I was even having thoughts like this to begin with...made me really think, did I always have feelings or thoughts like this for Lyde...since?

Daisy rushed over to me, giving me a bone crushing hug, including Stacey and Natalia. We were aggressively hugging, in the corner of my eye, I saw Lyde beginning to leave as the rest of the gang started making their way over to us.

"Wait, Lyde where are you going?" I asked,

"Who cares", said Spencer,

"There they are cops" said Robby, as Mike and Ruby joined his side. They quickly rushed over to check the guy I hit on the back of the head with a spade 'serves him right', and then started handcuffing him as he gained consciousness again. 

"Wait, he had nothing to do with it", I said, going to Lyde but Spencer stopped me,

"Let the cops do their job", he said,

Spencer started wiping my nose, "Jeez , they did a dirty job to you", he started grinding his teeth,

"Spencer, Lyde had nothing to do with it, trust me", I tried pleading.

We couldn't say anything or do anything, they had arrested Lyde and the other man and took us all in for questioning back at the Oaks View Police Station.

(A few hours later at the Oaks View Police Station)

Being questioned by the law can really take a toll on you, I was one of the first to get questioned by the Sheriff. Then, I waited for everyone else, Daisy was still being questioned and most of everyone else had reunited with their parents at the station.

Stacey's parents, who I had never met had also joined us at the station. They seemed really lovely, just like Stacey herself.

Then I saw someone, 'dad' I thought, getting up from my chair.

"What is it?", asked Spencer, getting up too.

"Dad", I called out,

"Sunflower".
