Lost in Time ~ Five Hargreeves

Chapter 47

The next morning, Riley, Five, Klaus, Diego, and Stanley (Diego's son) met i  the lobby for breakfast. The other three would probably join them soon. Well, two out of three– Riley would go and check on Allison soon.

"That little delinquent is your son?", Klaus asked Diego as Stanley sat down alone at another table.

"Allegedly my son," Diego replied.

Klaus and Riley exchanged glances and then burst out laughing.

"This isn't funny," Diego said.

"It is," Riley replied.

At that moment, Rhea and Five approached the table.

Five immediately found a seat, while Rhea hesitated for a moment and decided to sit with Stanley.

Riley wanted to say something, but decided against it– Rhea probably wanted to get to know her cousin.

"Wait, who's... who's the mother?", Five asked.

He placed a plate in front of Riley and another in front of himself before sitting down next to Riley.

"Lila," Diego answered Five's question.

"Excuse me?"

"Whoa, Lila's here?"

"Was," Diego explained. "She dropped him off in my lap last night and then bolted."

"I don't care much for that one," Klaus commented.

"Don't–"

"Well, she's family now, if you like it or not."

"She was trying to murder us, like, yesterday," Klaus reminded the others.

"Yeah, like Riley said, 'family,'" Five said. "Diego, is she coming back?"

"Well, she goddamn better be–" Diego said, then continued speaking a little louder so Stanley could hear him. "–because we've got more important things to be dealing with right now!"

"Calm down. Shh."

"Diego, it's not the boys' fault," Riley reminded their brother and started eating.

"Where's Luther?", the next Haargreves Sibling stopping by the table wanted to know.

"Who cares? Probably out for… a run."

"He is our brother, so we care," said Riley.

"Love the haircut," Klaus said and got a small smile in response.

"So I talked to Marcus last night."

"Wait, what? You talked to the enemy?"

"By yourself?", asked Diego.

"Somebody had to do something."

"Who elected you, Vanya?"

"It's, uh, Viktor."

"Who's Viktor?"

"I am. It's who I've always been," Viktor explained.

Riley put down their fork and, like the others, looked at their brother.

"Uh, is that an issue for anyone?", Viktor wanted to know, since no one said anything.

"Nah, I'm good with it."

"Yeah, me too. Cool."

"That's amazing. I'm really proud of you," said Riley and picked up the fork again.

"Truly happy for you, Viktor. But last time I checked, you don't speak for this family."

"Okay, well, it's fine, okay? Marcus totally gets it," Viktor explained and sat down at the table with his siblings. "He doesn't want a war any more than we do."
