Chapter 31: I Hate Surprises

*Third Person POV*

"Is she okay?!"... "What the hell just happened?"... "Who is she?"... "Why is she here?"... "Get her a pillow!"... "Do you think she had concussion?"... "Hyung, what should we do?"

Question after was question was asked and nobody knew what the hell to say. Sophie was lying in the middle of the living room on the floor unconscious with her room mates and other surprise guests surrounding her. “Gikwang, I told you to get her a pillow,” DooJoon ordered his younger band mate. Gikwang stood up and spun round and round in circles frantically, looking around for something to use to prop up Sophie’s head off the floor.

“Here,” U-Kiss’ maknae, DongHo spoke quietly and chucked the sofa cushion he had been sat on threw the air towards his hyung. Gikwang caught it, knelt down by Sophie’s head and while Kevin lifted her head up Gikwang slid the cushion under.

Kevin looked down at her face and tilted on an angle to the left, his eyes gazing over her soft features. *She’s so pretty* Kevin thought and reached forward to move the strand of hair away from her eyes and behind her ear. “Who is she?” Kevin asked in a quiet mesmerised tone.

“She’s our roommate,” Yoseob answered and sat down on the sofa next to Kiseop who was also staring down at Sophie’s face. “She’s our umma.” Yoseob giggled to himself and Gikwang nudged his fist against Yoseob’s arm.

“Umma?” U-Kiss’ leader questioned and raised his eyebrows. “She only looks 16. And she’s underage lives here with you guys?” SooHyun’s tone sounded rather brotherly, as if he didn’t think it safe for such a young girl to live with so many older guys. JunHyung started to laugh and the other Beast members soon joined in and all seven U-Kiss members stared at their friends with befuddled expressions. “What the hell is so funny?” SooHyun asked, folding his arms across his chest defensively.

DongWoon calmed down by taking deep breaths. “She’s not underage; she’s 20 years old, SooHyun.” SooHyun seemed shocked and looked down at Sophie’s face. Kevin, who was sat right beside her, looked down at her face and one side of his mouth twitched upwards into crooked smile. He moved his hand towards her face and brushed his fingers across her forehead to move her fringe so it sat above her eyebrows. Kevin’s lips parted slightly and he examined her smooth facial features, her soft milky skin, her small button nose, her rosy lips and her closed eyes, which he wished would open. *Wake up* he urged mentally as if she would somehow magically read his mind.

“Ugh-“ She groaned. Sophie started to worm around on the floor, and she raised her hand up to touch her face, holding it against the side of her head. Her eyelids pried open and her long eyelashes fluttered like the wings of a butterfly. The light stung her eyes and everything was blurry and unfocussed but as her eyes started to adjust to the light items and people started to become more detailed. Focusing straight ahead of her she saw him smiling down at her, his pretty brown eyes sparkled in the light flashing down from the ceiling lamp.

“Hello,” Kevin said to her with a cute smile spread across his lips. “Are you okay?”

*Sophie’s POV*

“Hello,” he said in the most beautiful voice. “Are you okay?” His tone had a little worry in it and the way his eyes sparkled made my heart beat like a marching drum. I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing, and a little part of me didn’t want it to be true… but only a very small part. I couldn’t believe what had just happened, sat right by my side was Kevin Woo, the man I had had a crush on since I was 12 years old.

“I-” the words caught in my throat, as if a golf ball had been lodged in there. “Wha-” I swallowed the saliva that was filling my mouth, preventing me from speaking fluently. “Ne, I’ll be fine.” I finally managed to get the words out as a full sentence and when he smiled at me showing his perfect pearly white teeth, I honestly thought I had died and gone to heaven.

Kevin stood up and extended his arm down towards me, offering me a hand to get up off the living room floor. I hesitated but finally placed my hand in his, and when I did electric shocks surged up my arm and caused the fine hairs on the back of my neck to stand up on end. I stood there in the middle of the living room gazing around the open space at all the familiar faces. Sat on the far end of the sofa next to HyunSeung was Hoon, and then in the centre of the large sofa were DongHo and Kiseop then Yoseob. Stood up next to the TV beside DongWoon was Eli, his western look smouldered and caused the air in my lungs to rush out in a gasp. The two leaders were sat on the arms of the plush chair with AJ sat on the cushion. I looked over to DongWoon and he grinned sheepishly at me so I narrowed my eyes and scowled at him.

“Why did you faint?” Eli asked, taking a small step closer towards me, his deep American accent sounded so cute mixed with the Korean language. “If you don’t mind me asking that is.”

“I-” I didn’t have time to answer his question because Yoseob thought it would be hilarious to just yell out at the top of his voice.

“She’s a KissMe!” Yoseob laughed and clapped his hands together quickly like a hyperactive child.

All seven members of U-Kiss stared at me and smiled, but out of all of them, the one that was smiling the widest was Kevin, his lips pulled right back over his teeth. “You’re a fan?” Kevin asked me in a slightly excited tone. “How long have you been a fan?”

“Since you first debuted, back when Alex and Kibum were members?” I blushed slightly and looked down towards the ground.

"Do you miss them as much as we do?" AJ asked and ruffled his blonde dyed hair.

"Of course I miss them," I answered and said it in a rushed. "On the last show when you all cried, I cried too. I really want them to come back, then U-Kiss could be a nine member boy band." I smiled widely and looked around at all the members. "Kiss Me's would be so happy."

DongWoon looked around at all of the people in the room and then focused his next question on the U-Kiss members. "Would you guys like to stay for dinner?"

The guys shared looks and the members that were sat next to each other had a little chat until Hoon finally spoke up. "We best not, we wouldnt want to intrude."

DooJoon scoffed and waved his hand about in the air and moved to stand next to DongWoon. "Don't be silly, you're our friends, we haven't spoken for a long time so this is a great way to catch up."

DongWoon nodded, agreeing with the leader and the other Beast members all chirped in and tried to convince them to stay for dinner. "Not to mention, Sophie makes delicious food," DongWoon complimented and I started to blush when he winked at me. All thirteen of the lads looked at me and smiled and then U-Kiss finally agreed to stay for dinner.

"DongWoon?" He looked at me with a single raised eyebrow. "May I have a word in the kitchen?" I spoke in English so that not all of the guys in the room could understand what I was saying. He tilted his head to the side but followed me throught the house to the other side and into the large kitchen. "when were you thinking of telling me that U-Kiss were here?"

DongWoon smiled weakly and hunched his shoulders, he held his hands up at shoulder height, his palms facing up towards the cieling. "Surprise."

I scowled at him and shook my head. "You know I hate surprises." I folded my arms over my chest and shifted on my feet so most of my weight was on the one leg. He just smirked mischieviously at me and shrugged his shoulders before nudging his fist playfully against my arm. "Well, considering you invited them, you can go to the shop and get more ingrediants. There is no way I can make food for 14 people with what I have."

"That's fine by me." DongWoon smiled and then walked towards the door.

I started to pull out what I needed and placed it all neatly on the side. Just as DongWoon was about to step through the front door I yelled to him. "And DongWoon!"

"Ne."

"No more surprises!"
