Chapter 37: Hocus Pocus

*Third Person POV*

"Come on guys, there must be somebody looking."

SooHyun looked at Kevin and patted him on the back gently. "You're trying to hard, Kev," he said in a fatherly tone. "I don't see why you're doing this anyway."

Kevin sent the leader an evil glare and threw his hands up into the air in a frustrated manner. Standing up out of his chair he stared down at the leader and shook his head. "I'm doing this because I can," Kevin snarled. "And if you won't help me, that's fine with me, I'll do it alone."

Kevin spun on the spot and stormed out of the recording room and made his way down the hallway and headed out of the NH building towards his car.

"He's such a stubborn boy," SooHyun complained back in the recording studio and shook his head, running his fingers through his hair.

Eli patted him on the back."He'll snap out of it soon," he ensured in a soothing tone. "He's just going through a phase."

"I'll show them," Kevin muttered to himself as he reversed his car out of the parking lot and headed back to his house, hoping the plan he had in mind would work like how he was playing it in his head.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Sophie was sat on a wobbly stool, rotating her spoon round and round in her mug, scooping up the whipped cream and then letting it drop back into the hot liquid. She sighed heavily and picked up her chocolate coated digestive biscuit and snapped it into quarters, dipping one of the small sections into the hot chocolate just long enough that the milk chocolate melted and started to run off the biscuit base. She popped it into her mouth and chewed agonisingly slowly, so slowly it was starting to piss off the old lady that was sat on the stool next to her.

Sophie noticed the evil looks she was receiving off the woman so she stuck her tongue out at her and wrinkled her nose up. The woman scoffed and got off her stool, throwing a small tip down onto the mugs saucer and stormed out of the diner.

The woman's cup was removed off the counted and the space the woman had occupied was wiped down. "Will you stop scaring my customers away."

Sophie looked up and flashed an apologetic expression. "Sorry, Karla," she muttered.

"English, dude," Karla laughed. "English." Sophie realised she has spoken in Korean and started to giggle. She was so used to speaking it, it had become a habit and was actually starting to think her English skills were getting worse the longer she wasn't in England. "What's eating you? You're not your usual bubbly self today."

"I'm having so much trouble trying to find a job here," Sophie mumbled and let her head fall down into her arms. "I think it's because I'm English, the employers instantly assume I can't speak Korean, and it really pisses me off."

"You live with six idols," she said lowering her voice to a soft mumble. "Why would you need a job? I'm sure they earn enough."

Sophie blew air through her lips, letting them vibrate in a raspberry. "I don't want to have to rely on the guys though, I'd like to be able buy my clothes with my own money."

Karla hummed in understanding and wiped the cloth she was holding down one side of the coffee making machine. She tucked the towel into her apron and walked off into the kitchen leaving Sophie sat there sighed repeatedly to herself in despair. Karla returned from the kitchen after about five minutes with a smile on her face. She stood right in front of Sophie and when she looked up and her Karla lifted up a red apron, similar to the one she was wearing and waved it in front of Sophie's confused eyes. "You start tomorrow at 9,"she beamed at Sophie.

Sophie's jaw dropped and she stared at Karla. "Are you being serious?" she gasped and Karla nodded. Grabbing the apron from Karla's hands Sophie wrapped her arms around her shoulders and hugged her tightly. "But, don't I need to have an interview or something."
