*Sophie’s POV*
“Sophie-shi!” I spun around on the spot to face towards the entrance of the living room, an ice-lolly in my mouth. I pulled it out and smiled, the sticky Popsicle melted slight causing my lips to stick together slightly. Yoseob ran up to stand in front of me panting and held his hand out towards me, his mobile in his palm. “It’s for you.”
My guy started to tighten a little as I took the phone and held it to my ear. *This’ll be Kiseop with the details. I smiled to myself and turned back round to scan through the huge collection of DVD’s we had, finding it excruciatingly difficult to choose one. “Annyeong Kiseop,” I spoke softly into the speaker and pulled out one of the movies and read the back but put it back when it didn’t interest me.
“Kiseop?” A sweet handsome voice answered. I seized up and had to grip the phone tightly in my hand so that I wouldn’t drop it from the shock. My breath faltered and my heart thumped against my ribs.
“K-K-Kevin?” I stuttered and mentally slapped myself for doing it. *curse this stutter!* I cleared my throat and shook my head, hoping it would help me regain my focus. But the only thing I could think about was the person on the other end of the phone, and why he was calling me. Was he giving me the information for Kiseop... or worse, was Kiseop using Kevin to tell me that Kiseop wasn’t going to be coming. Dozens more negative thoughts like this whizzed about in the back of my mind, eating away at my confidence and self-esteem. “W-what’s wrong?”
I gripped the handle of my lolly firmly and actually had to tell myself to breath manually. “Nothing’s wrong, I j-just thought I’d c-call and see how y-you are.” I was confused, he was stuttering as bad as I do but I had no idea what would make him stammer so badly. Was he hiding something? “Are you still going out with Kiseop tonight?”
“Erm, I think so, he hasn’t sent Yoseob the detail yet but I haven’t heard otherwise.” I walked out of the living room and into the kitchen, pressing the pedal on the bin I dropped the remainder of my lolly into the bin before more of it could melt and trickle down my already sticky arm. “May I ask why you want to know this?” I scratched the back of my head and it went silent on the other end. I furrowed my eyebrows. “Hello?” I asked. “Are you still there?” I pulled Yoseob’s phone away from my ear to look at the screen to see if the call had been disconnected but it hadn’t, the call was still running. I put it back to my ear. “Kevin?”
“I... erm... I was just wondering... Kiseop wanted me to... erm... check to make sure you... erm... still wanted to go tonight.”
I narrowed my eyes at his hesitations, I wasn’t sure whether or not he was telling the truth, but I wasn’t going to argue with him. When would I ever get the chance to speak to him on the phone again? “Oh, alright. Well tell him I’m still up for it, but he needs to tell me the details.”
I could hear a muffled voice coming from Kevin's end of the line and there was a quiet argument and some rustling before somebody spoke out. “Sophie, it’s me.” It was Kiseop. “I was just about to call you when I realised Kevin was talking to you.” Wait a minute, Kevin had just said he was calling me on behalf of Kiseop, and if that was true then why didn’t Kiseop know Kevin had phone me, unless... my thoughts were interrupted my Kiseop’s cute voice. “I’ll be round yours in about an hour to pick you up, is that okay?”
I nodded and then asked myself why I had just done that because he couldn’t see me, I was on the phone. *I’m so stupid sometimes* I insulted myself. “That’s fine, but I best hang up now so I can get ready.” Kiseop told me he had to do the same and we said our goodbyes before ending the call. I walked out of the kitchen just as Yoseob was entering it and I tossed his phone though the air towards him and he panicked, fumbling to keep hold of it and not let it crash to the tiled ground.
