Thirty-Eight - Almost There

Hayato came home past 3:00 A.M. smelling of alcohol. He saw me breastfeeding little Shin but he didn't even glance at us. He just went to get a towel and headed for the bathroom. I felt kind of sad. Usually, he would come to us first, kiss me on the forehead and the baby on the cheeks.

I was already putting Shin on his crib when he came back, with a towel wrapped around his waist. I was about to lie down on the bed when he suddenly just let his body fell on it. The bed shook from the impact. He then turned his back on me.

"I know you're mad at me. I'm confused. Why?" I asked in a whisper.

"Sleep. You need that. It seemed like Shin kept you awake all night."

"How can I sleep when I know you're angry at me?"

He stirred and turned towards me. His eyes were half-closed.

"Let's talk about it in the morning. I'm tired." And he took an extra pillow and put it on his face. That was my cue that he didn't want to be disturbed anymore. I moved to the edge of the bed and closed my eyes.

I was already half in dreamland when I heard somebody wailing. I tried to ignore it at first, but it kept on getting louder and louder. When I opened my eyes, I saw Hayato trying to hush Shin to sleep but the baby just bawled. I knew he was hungry. Drowsily, I walked towards them and took the baby in my arms. As soon as he felt my soft breasts, he moved his head towards one of them and immediately suck it. But since I still had my nightdress on, he got mad when there seemed to be a barrier. He wailed again. I hurriedly returned to the bed and sat down while unbuttoning the front of my dress. In my haste to feed the baby, I exposed the other breast, too. I only noticed it when I heard Hayato sucked in a breath. He was standing there watching us for a while and then he just went to the bathroom. But before he did, I caught a glimpse of his hardness beneath the towel. I felt kind of good that I still have the power to turn him on.

Shin was already asleep when he returned. I also pretended to be back in dreamland. He was lying quietly beside me for a moment, then suddenly he moved towards me. He put his leg on my waist and pulled me closer. He then nibbled on my ears.

"I'm horny," he whispered.

I didn't say anything, but my heart was thumping fast. It beat more frantically when I felt his hardness on my butt. He tried to press it there harder while licking my ears. I couldn't pretend that I was asleep any longer. I turned to face him. He was on top of me in no time. I felt him grope something between us and then I saw the towel flying to the floor. He grabbed my nightdress and took it off in one swift motion. He reached for my remaining undies and like the towel it flew to the wall. The next thing I knew, I felt something hard and throbbing making its way inside me. I gasped for breath and I moaned. I clung to his neck like I was holding on for dear life. Then, there it was. That hot thing pouring inside me. I heard him groaned like he was in pain, but his face was convulsing in ecstacy. I tried to stifle mine, but it also came out like a loud bang. I saw him smile before he kissed me passionately on the lips. And he rolled to his side. It just dawned on me. We didn't use any protection! Shit!

"You didn't use any condom," I whispered.

He squinted at me before he stretched his arm above my head.

"That's so unromantic," he answered drowsily. "Let's go back to sleep, it's just 6:45. I'm still sleepy and tired."

I sighed. I coudln't help feeling worried. What if I get pregnant again? What would happen? Loosen up, Ellie! You're so uptight. Just enjoy the moment.

I looked at him and sighed again. But I have to admit, that was the hottest lovemaking we did after Shin was born. When I remembered how I squirmed and moaned at his touch that morning, I smiled and moved closer to him. I placed my head on the crook of his arm and went back to sleep.
