16 Weeks — Things Start Changing
Not completely.
Leah still got sick.
Still gagged brushing her teeth.
Still randomly threw up if something smelled too strong.
(Which mostly meant anything Lilly tried to cook.)
But something had shifted.
The constant vomiting had finally started easing.
In exchange?
Leah was now always tired.
Like—
falling asleep mid-conversation tired.
Sleeping-on-the-couch-at-3PM tired.
Barely-keeping-her-eyes-open tired.

07:20 AM — Sleepy Wife
Lilly woke first.
Again.
She turned automatically toward Leah.
Still asleep.
Completely starfished across the bed.
One hand over her tiny bump now.
Tiny.
But definitely there.
Enough that Lilly had started noticing it without meaning to.
Enough that sometimes her hand would just rest there absentmindedly.
Protective.
Always.
"Leah."
Nothing.
"Babe."
A groan.
"You have training."
"No I don't."
"You literally do."
Leah buried herself deeper into the blanket.
"...cancel it."
"You love football."
"I love sleeping more."
Lilly huffed a laugh.
"Come on."
"No."
"Leah."
"No."
"You're drooling."
That got a dramatic gasp.
"I am not."
"You absolutely are."
Leah opened one eye.
"You're rude."
"You're sleepy."
"I'm growing your son."
"Our son."
Leah softened immediately.
"...fine."
But she still stayed in bed another twenty minutes.
⸻
09:30 AM — Coffee Catch-Up
Leah sat in the café looking half awake.
Huge hoodie.
Hair tied messily.
Tea in front of her because coffee suddenly made her feel sick.
Beth sat opposite her.
