17 Weeks — Settling Into Something New
Things weren't easy.
But they were... easier.
At least a little.
Leah wasn't throwing up ten times a day anymore.
Now it was random.
Unexpected.
Cruel.
Like her body waited until she felt slightly human again before ruining it.
But the exhaustion?
That stuck around.
Hard.

06:50 AM — Sleepy, Always Sleepy
Lilly woke up to weight on her chest.
Again.
Leah had somehow rolled completely onto her in the middle of the night.
One leg thrown over hers.
Hair everywhere.
Mouth slightly open.
Dead asleep.
Lilly stared at her for a second.
Then looked down.
Tiny bump.
Still small.
But there.
Real.
Her hand moved without thinking, resting lightly against it.
"Our son's making you dramatic," she muttered quietly.
Leah groaned half asleep.
"Can hear you..."
"You're snoring."
"I do not snore."
"You absolutely do."
Leah cracked one eye open.
"You're rude in the mornings."
"You've stolen the whole bed."
Leah yawned dramatically.
"I'm growing a person."
"Still using that excuse."
"It's valid."
⸻
08:15 AM — Coffee Run
Leah insisted on leaving the house.
"Fresh air," she'd said.
"Movement."
Lilly was ninety percent sure she'd regret it.
But here they were.
Tiny café near the training ground.
Leah sat bundled in one of Lilly's hoodies again, tea in front of her.
No coffee.
Coffee suddenly made her gag.
Beth sat opposite.
"You look... alive today."
"Barely."
Katie arrived carrying pastries.
"You need food."
Leah looked horrified.
"No."
"You have to eat."
