04:27 AM — Not Again

Lilly woke instantly.

Years of military training.

One tiny sound and she was awake.

Beside her—

Leah sat bolt upright.

Hand over her mouth.

"Oh no."

Lilly sighed.

"Bathroom?"

Leah nodded miserably.

Thirty seconds later she was kneeling beside the toilet again.

Not as bad as before.

But enough.

Enough to make her cry from frustration.

"This is bullshit."

Lilly sat beside her.

"Agreed."

"I thought it was getting better."

"It was."

Leah glared.

"Helpful."

Lilly handed her water.

Leah took it.

Then immediately rested her head on Lilly's shoulder.

Exhausted.

"I just want one normal day."

Lilly kissed the top of her head.

"You'll get one."

"When?"

"No idea."

Leah groaned.

08:15 AM — Baby Shopping

A dangerous idea.

Because Katie was involved.

And Katie McCabe treated every baby item like it was life or death.

"This one."

"No."

"This one."

"No."

"This one."

"Katie that's a dinosaur costume."

"So?"

"Our son isn't a dinosaur."

"Not with that attitude."

Beth was crying laughing.

Leah was trying not to laugh because laughing currently made her feel sick.

Lilly stood holding shopping bags already.

Looking like she regretted everything.

The girls had somehow filled an entire trolley.

Tiny Arsenal outfits.

Tiny socks.

Tiny hats.

Tiny everything.

Leah picked up a tiny Arsenal kit.

Number six on the back.

Williamson.

Her eyes immediately softened.

"Oh."

Lilly saw it.
