Icarus Academy was a little school and it was weird looking. It was all yellow and had three buildings, Building 1 was connected to Building 3 through 2 small bridges on the second and third floor. The
buildings were small though. Building 2 was mostly for the little kids, below 5th grade. The ground was very small, and there weren't many students which made the school a more closely-knit community.
On my first day, I precisely remember we studied The Age of the Emperors with Ms. Sasha, who taught us most of our subjects. She was sarcastic and joked about most people. There was this one scrawny
and clumsy kid in our class, Chris, who she called "noodle". She was pretty nice to me on my first day. She had a kid in my class, Michael, give me a tour of the school. It didn't last long.
I remember there was this one girl called Ariana who was marked wrong in a test and accused of changing the answer after she got the paper back to get extra marks. She was right though, and she
proved it. I also remember the teacher said I had to sit next to a girl because I talked to the guys too much, and I was hoping I'd get to sit next to one of the pretty ones, I had a little crush on this one girl
called Alisha, I was hoping to sit next to her, but I got seated next to Dana, who covered herself with a veil, I couldn't even see her face.
But Dana turned out to be much more important in my life than I thought. It's funny, when you meet someone you never know how important they'll be to you. You could end up wanting to kill them or
you may think about them so much.
This boy in my class, Shane, introduced me to the rest of the boys, there were only 8 in total. There was Shane, Derek, Ahmed, Chris, Michael, Omar, Doug and me. I hung out with Shane and Derek during
recess and they were a lot of fun. Apparently they were the "cool kids" of the grade.
Easily getting in with the cool kids was a lucky break for me. Unfortunately it didn't last very long. Later I saw them bullying the scrawny kid, Chris, and his friend Ahmed and I stopped talking to them and
talked to Chris instead. Turns out we had a lot more in common than Shane and I.
We both love Pokemon, for one. It's really rare to find another Pokemon fan in Kolachi. To this day, I still think I made the right decision to stick up for the bullied kids. I also met lots of other people, I
remember once there was this girl in my class Natalie, her older sister Izzy and her friends came and randomly talked to me one recess.
That's all for grade 6 in Icarus - I don't remember much and it wasn't so eventful. But it did open way for some of the best years of my life where I met some amazing people.
