A/N: I have been excited for this chapter since the very beginning of Gemini. I sincerely hope you love our little Christmas special.

"You can do that for me? By the time I asked you?" Your voice carries from the motel bathroom, bright enough to make Dean's attention drift away from the tie he's been fighting with for the past five minutes. "Oh, that would be amazing."
Your heels click softly against the bathroom tile while you pace the small space, the door left cracked just enough for your voice to spill into the room. You've been on the phone for nearly fifteen minutes now, ever since you snatched it off the nightstand and mumbled something about the call being urgent before disappearing into the bathroom with that secretive little smile neither Winchester ever trusts.
Dean stands in front of the wall mirror, pretending to care about the tie hanging crooked around his neck, but his eyes keep sliding toward the opening in the bathroom door whenever your voice dips lower.
Sam is pretending not to notice too.
He's stretched out on one of the beds with the newspaper article open in front of him, reading through the same paragraph for what has to be the third time before the three of you head out to interview the victim's wife. But every now and then, his eyes flick upward over the top of the paper, tracking the bathroom door, then Dean, then back to the article like he thinks either one of you believes he's actually focused.
Then you laugh.
Dean's head snaps toward the bathroom before he can stop himself.
Sam's eyes lift too, quieter but just as quick.
"You don't understand how much this means to me," you say, your voice softening in a way that makes Dean's hand still around the tie and Sam's thumb stop against the edge of the newspaper. "It's been something I've been planning for a while. Okay, thanks again. I'll see you then."
The call ends, and a few seconds later the bathroom door squeaks open as you flip off the light behind you. You step out while smoothing your blouse down, making sure it's tucked neatly into your skirt before checking the cuffs of your jacket. Dean looks at you for a second too long, long enough that Sam glances up from the article and notices immediately.
You catch Dean staring first.
"What?" you ask, eyebrows lifting as you glance toward the mirror to check your reflection. "Do I have something on my face?"
Dean clears his throat and looks back down at his tie too quickly. "No."
"Then why are you looking at me like that?"
"I'm not looking at you like anything."
"You absolutely are." You step closer, eyes narrowing slightly as you examine him in the mirror. "That's your suspicious face."
Sam folds the newspaper slightly, his mouth twitching. "He has several."
Dean shoots him a glare through the mirror. "Don't you have research to do?"
"I'm researching," Sam says, far too calmly. "Just making observations."
"You've been on the same page for ten minutes," you point out.
Sam looks down at the paper like it has betrayed him, then back up at you. "It's a very dense article."
Dean snorts.
You smile faintly before moving behind Dean, close enough that he can smell your perfume, something soft and warm that has no business distracting anyone in the middle of a case. He stiffens when your hands slide around the front of his shirt and catch the loose ends of his tie.
