Caroline:

I sat at the table, the white coffee mug before me slowly steaming as I waited for it to cool down, Stefan then sitting across from me and Elena sitting beside him. "How do you think its going right now?" Elena asked, worried, hoping either Stefan or I would have something to say, only I hesitate and say "Maybe, Klaus is just so eager to see his kid, that Damon won't fight against him." Elena wouldn't believe that, no matter how much perkiness I put into it, only Stefan replies "Klaus will want Jack, but I don't find it fair to Jack that he has an ultimate substitute after everything that has happened." I nodded, Elena doing the same. "Either remain the orphan or the on your new, real family- even if he is an insensitive ass with no emotions." Elena laughs, then explaining "Well, he did once love you, that's a surefire sign of emotion, Care." I shake my head trying to shut out the memories out how he would constantly confess his love for me with jewelry, artwork and other expensive items. "Yes, but if you want to win a girls heart, you don't try and kill her friends, her boyfriend- or her." Stefan and Elena laugh, both of them looking back into those times. Jeremy was dead, Elena was practically Katherine, Silas was out and alive, Bonnie was a witch that was consumed by Expression, and the world we lived in was far from normal, well, our term of normal. If there was one.

I could hear Jeremy and Jack talking upstairs, as could Elena and Stefan, and I could feel Jack's nervous heart beat, possibly fearing meeting his true father, or knowing that he was about to take another step deeper into the supernatural world, our world. "I think we should call Katherine" Elena said, then, Stefan and I both looked at her, wondering if she was going crazy. "Are you kidding? Jack obviously has growing feelings for her and would want to see her before she has to go running from Klaus again. It seems perfectly fine to me." Stefan then nodded, but  protested "Yeah, maybe to you, but ti will cause chaos if Klaus gets here and finds her and his son, then, he'll attack Katherine and then be gone with Jack. If you guys are asking me to help sign up for more death hidings, count me out." I took a sip out of the mug, but Elena then pulled out her phone to call Katherine, but then put the phone down, realising that no one, besides Damon, has her number, only as she looks down in dismay, there is a knock at the door. We all turn, only the door swings open and there, as if she has been listening to our conversations from afar, stands Katherine, asking "Can I come in?"

Elena flashed upstairs and later came back down the stairs with Jeremy, Jack still in the room, looking around at the photos on the walls and the books in the cases. Katherine fluttered her lashes, biting at her lip, and she then asked "Can I please come in, little Gilbert?" Jeremy then asked "You expect me to let in the vampire that had me killed? Wow, your sense of humour is quite amazing." Katherine then said "Fine, tell Jack that I'll miss him and I hope he's happy with his new life, and that-" Katherine paused, only then, when she saw all the eager eyes to hear the end of the sentence, she flashed away, vanishing like a blur in the night.

Jack:

I looked at a framed photo of Elena and Jeremy, standing by the pier with their parents, who I had recently learnt, were deceased. I then put the photo back upon the shelf as I turned back for the bed, feeling drowsy, I then hear s quiet knock at the window, and I then flip toward it, holding my breath in fear. I then reach over to the shelf and grab a thicker framed photo, bracing myself as I walk toward the window, seeing the outline of the figure behind the white curtains. I then reach out slowly and pull the curtain aside, then, chucking the picture onto a sofa and then yanking both curtains open, my heart rising to its fullest as I see Katherine at my window. I smile, the edge of my lips reaching a high part of my cheeks, and I pull on the latch, the window slowly opening toward her. "Katherine! I am so glad to see you. I thought I wasn't going to see you ever again." She smiled, only when she tries to pass through, she says "Look, I know that you are glad to see me, and I am ecstatic to see you, but don't you think it would be better if I could come in?" I then steps aside, extend an arm, and I then ask "Would you like to come in, Katherine?" Katherine smiles happily, taking my hand, and then stepping through, feeling a relief at her entrance- and my touch.

She then moves toward the bed, her hand still connected to mine, her aroma of the forest pine filling the air, and she then sits on the edge of the mattress, and I sit beside her. "Jack," she begins. Her smile begins to fade, and I am disappointed when she announces "I can't stay with you once you leave with your father." I feel my heart drop at a quick pace, falling, and my thoughts are troubled, a dark cloud of despair circling over all the other ones. "No, you can't ask me to choose-" Katherine halts me when she presses a finger against my lips and says "I am not asking you to choose. Klaus has been chasing me for centuries, and no matter how much I try, he will never set me free. I don't want you to choose between being here with me or off with the only family you have left, but I am asking you to take this." Katherine then reaches into her pocket and then pulls out a silver ring. I take it from her, looking at the front of the metallic grey band, seeing that it is studded with a heavy blue stone. "Lapis lazuli" I answer. "Yeah, so when Klaus makes you an immortal, well, if he wants to spend the rest of eternity with his son, you'll have a ring to allow you to walk in the day. I'll miss you Jack" Katherine explains. "I want you to have something, too, Katherine." She then smiles, happy, and I then slowly remove my fathers ring from my hand, losing the cold touch as it drops from my hand and into hers. "So you can remember me" I then say "And this."

I then lean into her, her doing the same, and then, our lips touch. As our lips were touching, time seemed to pause, lasting for  an eternity, us frozen in the moment forever. Our lips interlocked, only after she puts her hand behind my head, I can feel her everything. I can feel her heart pounding, her breath, her desire for me, and I can feel the strongest of all auras. I can feel her growing love. We pull away, and I then explain "I love you, Katherine." She then smiles, her scarlet lips stretching out, and she then replies "I love you too, Jack." Suddenly, there was a knocking on the door downstairs, a heavy banging, and I could hear it open only few seconds later. Katherine then whispers "Klaus."
